A Little Levity LAWYERS!!One afternoon a lawyer was riding in his limousine when he saw two men along the roadside eating grass. Disturbed, he ordered his driver to stop and he got out to investigate. He asked one man, "Why are you eating grass?""We don't have any money for food," the poor man replied. "We have to eat grass.""Well, then, you can come with me to my house and I'll feed you," the lawyer said."But sir, I have a wife and two children with me. They are over there, under that tree.""Bring them along," the lawyer replied.Turning to the other poor man he stated, "You come with us, too.&q

Human psyche perceives controlling five vices - Pride, Lust, Anger, Attachment and Greed, as being perhaps the five most difficult things to do during our short stay on this planet. And the solution to controlling these vices lies within ourselves only. Self-discipline comes from Self-realization. Self-realization comes from Self-introspection. Self-introspection comes with Patience and Patience comes from Practice. When we say that we are fighting these vices, this means we are already aware of these problems, which are hampering our spiritual growth, and we are already on our way. But then this should not be said just for mere saying or for impressing upon others.A

Were cathode rays a form of light, or of matter?      Were cathode rays a form of light, or matter? At first no one really caredwhat they were, but as their scientific importance became more apparent, the light-versus-matter issue turned into a controversy along nationalisticlines, with the Germans advocating light and the English holding out formatter. The supporters of the material interpretation imagined the rays asconsisting of a stream of atoms ripped from the substance of the cathode.       One of our defining characteristics of matter is that material objectscannot pass through each other. Course PlanningCourse planning is essential in the sense ,that it can get you at the top in rank list. This planning should be done by the student in 11th class itself . From this year, a screening test is being conducted and so proper planning becomes all the more important.Have a look at all the topics and shortlist topics, and months wherein you plan to complete them.Finishing syllabus atleast a month before the exam is essential. The summer vacations in 12th class are the best time to finish a huge lot of syllabus.I can suggest the following course plan for students in 11th class.JUNE TO OCTOBER : Mathematical concepts used in Physics, Basic mechanics, stoichiometr

Examination Strategies For IIT JEERevision related tips About 20 days before the JEE Screening Test, start getting acquainted with a wide variety of topics to improve the range of numericals you can attempt. Do not attempt lengthy questions, and focus instead on objective, numerical questions to practice as many types of questions as you can. You should look at breadth rather than depth in these 20 days. Revise all important concepts and formulae, so that they are on your tips and come to you without any effort or thought. The screening paper gives equal weightage to all three subjects â?? and so should your screening preparation. Remember - The sc

I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game-winning shot... and I missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that?s precisely why I succeed.? ? The fact that the speed of light is the same in all reference frames has the consequence that moving clocks run slow. This means that if two events occur at the same place, such as the ticks of a clock, a moving observer will measure the time between the events to be longer. The relation between a time measured by a stationary observer t0 to the time t measured by an observer moving with velocity v is:The gamma factor appears often in relativity. It is always greater than unity, but very close to it for small velocities. (If the velocity were greater than c, gamma would be undefined; but that never happens, as we will see shortly.) This result can be shown to result

Speed of Light and Theory of RelativityThe only reason behind the existence of the Special Theory of Relativity is the experimental fact that the speed of light in a vacuum is independent of any motion of the source or receiver. This is because the usual concept of speed is inconsistent with the invariance of c unless one redefines length and time units accordingly. In his paper 'On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies' (published in 1905), Einstein derives his theory by considering the propagation of a light signal in two different reference frames, each of which being defined by its own set of detectors (stop-watches) that should serve to define the locatio

Few centuries ago, a Law teacher came across a student who was willing to learn but was unable to pay the fee. The student struck a deal saying, "I would pay your fee the day I win my first case in the court". Teacher agreed and proceeded with the law course. When the course was finished and teacher started pestering the student to pay up the fee, student reminded the deal and pushed days. Fed up with this, the teacher decided to sue the student in the court of law and both of them decided to argue for themselves. The teacher put forward his argument saying: "If I win this case, as per the court of law, student has to pay me. And if I lose the case, s

A verse from RIGVEDA(I,50-4).In the verse Sun light speed is referred with the help of units called YOJAN."Yojananam Dwe Dwe Shate Dwe Cha Yojane Aken Nimishardhena Krammana Namostute"In this verse sun is referred to with respect saying that sunlight moves 2202 Yojans in Half Nimish. Yojan is quite a common unit in India. It means 4 KOSE, each kose measuring 8000 BRITISH YARDS AND EACH YARD MEASURING 0.9144 M.The Definition of time unit Nimish can be found in ShrimadhBhagwat(ii,11-3 TO 10) WHERE IT IS MENTIONED THAT 15 NIMISHAS MAKE 1 Kashta,15 kashtas make 1 laghu, 30 laghus make 1 muhurtas and 30 muhurtas make 1 Diva-ratri. Got 5 minutes to spare? That's all the time you need to learn how to quickly multiply two numbers from 11 to 19 in your head. With this trick, you will be able to multiply any two numbers from 11 to 19 in your head quickly, without the use of a calculator. I will assume that you know your multiplication table reasonably well up to 10x10. Lets try 15 x 131. Always place the larger number (15) of the two on top in your mind. 2. Now add (15 + 3 = 18) 3. Add a zero behind it (i.e., multiply by 10) to get 180. 4. Multiply the unit digit in this case (3 x 5 = 15) 5. Add the answers from steps 3 and 4 to get your answer. (180 + 1
