If a tangent to the parabola Y^2=4ax meets the axis in T and tangent at the vertex A in Y and the rectangle TAYG is completed. Then the locus of G isa.y^2+2ax=0b.y^2+ax=0c. x^2+ay=0d. None

The locus of G is y2 + ax= 0.

So, the answer is (c).

let the equation of the tangent be y=mx+a/m

By putting y=0 and x-=0,

the point T is (-a/m^2,0)

and the point Y is (0,a/m)

Since TAYG is a rectangle, the coordinates of G are (-a/m^2,a/m)

[x distances and y distances]

By comparing with the options, C choice is best satisfied by the point G!
