The Iodine test is used to test for the presence of  STARCH

The standard test for starch in biology and so on is to use an iodine solution.

You add a drop of this to what you are trying to test, and if it turns a dark blue colour then this shows that there is starch present     !!!!!

 Use iodine solution. You will get blue colored solution when added to starch. More explanation can be found at AdiChemAdi's: How section.
