when a part of the circuit across it has 0 potential difference applied, a short circuited element can be removed from the circuit diagram for the purpose of calculations, however in case of a battery this would mean a very large current and i think battery can become disfunctional(in reality)

Nullyfieng of huge amount of opposite charges cause light and sound energy ,, which we recieves as spark,, This concept is not limited 2 wires only in house hold
