A body is suspended from a spring balance kept in a satellite. the reading of the balance is w1 when satellite goes in an orbit if radius R, and is w2 when it goes in orbit of radius 2R. Thena)w1=w2 b)w1>w2 c)w1

while working in he satellite frame of reference .....we have to add a centrifugal force on every body !!!.....so centrifugal force= m.a = m.(GM/R^2)................so this force balances out the attraction of earth and hence the reading is same in every orbit ( watever da radius may be)
A force acting perpendicular to two surfaces in contact with each other. It is a measure of the force holding the two surfaces together. The larger the normal reaction force, the larger the value of limiting friction. If weight is the only vertical force acting on an object lying or moving on a horizontal surface, the normal reaction force is equal in magnitude, but opposite in direction to the weight. Friction, therefore, is increased by increasing the weight.

at orbit of radius R, g=g at earth i.e. weight = mg = w1
at an orbit of radius 2R, g(effective)g/4 i.e. weight =mg/4=w2
Clearly, w1>w2
