Dude, it's the board part I am more worried about. A tough aptitude test is a good indicator of raw intelligence, but the boards don't serve any purpose.However, an aptitude test is not sufficient for IIT entrance. They need JEE to ensure that they are selecting potential engineers and not just intelligent people without any inclination for science.

this is totally a wasteful idea trying to implement something that does not suit our conditions,and will surely create much problems if it really is brought into picture

IIT JEE is one tough exam.If the JEE is replaced with a SAT type one,it would degrade the quality of students being selected.How ever this doesn't mean that the SAT is too easy or JEE is one of the best.We have more important problems that need to addressed immediately regarding our current educational infrastructure.

IIT should be an authority to take such one exam for entry into IITs,SAT,BHU,IISC,IISER, NITs,BESU and obviously JU. It should be detached from other Pvt. Engg. Colleges to differentiate it's Grade not only that to search intelligent students in India.

If IITs gone under All India Single Entrance Test it would be rediculous and IITs will be sufferer of lacking of class students so, if IITs gone to that yet IITs should also have right to take another entry criteria like interview etc.
