                                    ----------SOLUTIONS-----------

1. l = 80cm

n = 240/60 = 4.
 Velocity of the stone at the point when the velocity of stone is vertically upwards is given by v = wL = 2pinl

Using conservation of mechanical energy

1/2mv2 = mgH, also H = v2/2g.

Putting the values, we get H = 20.48m

2. Its a simple question. Don't get into complex calculus on seeing the sinwt function.
The maximum value of the force is 2, (|sinwt|<=1)

It is easy to see that force due to friction is always greater than the applied force.

3. Simple question. I think everyone got this right.
      From the given situation, we get
ucos@/2 = usin@-gt
Solve thereon

4.Differentiate  the expression wrt to t, and get the result. Again, almost everyone got this right.

5. If all the corners have a charge Q, then its easy to see that they cancel out and the net field at the center is 0. Use this and find the answer.

6.  Draw a figure.  You should be able to see that the particle comes out of the field after completing a semi circle. Its diameter will be 2mv/Bq

7. Velocity of source at t=4s = 40m/s.

Using doppler shift concept,

f' = (320/360)1000 = 889hz.

Bonus question:

Please refer figure

Torque applied by gravity about the edge in contact T = mg(3l/4)

hence, I@ = 3mgl/4

Also, I = 43ml2/48  (from parallel axis theorem)

Combining the two eqns, we get @ = 36g/45l

From newton's laws, mg-N = ma

Also, a = (3l/4)@

Solving them simultaneously, we get N = 16mg/43

(Good work by feynmann)

Hope all of you enjoyed the test :)

This is to announce that SNIPER has got the tie breaker question right, and hence, he is the official topper of this test. Elastiboysai has also made a very good attempt, but went wrong at places.
