well according to me its a totally wrong method......
becoz......crammers can't run companies..mnc's need new ideas....which only people getting in iit thru just JEE can give to them..
so....
i don't agree with this decision of considering class 12th marks to get into iits
Considering only board exams can be the worst move the IIT can make,IIT requires real creative, intellegent people, not ratoos who mug up everything and score 95,97% etc
I think the IIT should raise there minimum cutoff of 60% to say 75% so that not many SC ST can enter
coz I know ppl who get half my marks entered IIT this time and I got AIR 6789
yes,its a good concept as it will put a check on the students neglecting the +2 level studies as they are they are the building blocks of one's concepts. also the students who are really serious face less difficulty in managing the studies of both the streams. INDIA NEEDS ENGINEERS WHO CAN TRANSFORM INDIA NOT JUST GET A JOB IN AN IT FIRM AND SIT OVER A LARGE BANK BALANCE.
No, it should not be done as our system of education is in very poor condition .We have numerous boards in India with different patterns of giving marks and in various state boards marks are based on luck. The evaluation of exam. copies is done in a hapazard manner. Some students with good handwriting get good marks(no matter how much they now) while others who have knowledge do not get good marks because of their poor hand writing.

i do not agree at all with it................first of all 12th class studies, nowadays, are just confined to cramming....and such a student who can just cram is not at all eligible for institutes like the IITs.moreover paper checking by boards is always doubtful.............
