IIT JEE , AIEEE Forum - Institutes & Courses , Non IIT Institutes - How to rank IISER as compared to other institutes

No doubt about the fact that IISER have excellent student input.I expect it to do well.
But then again , the high paying sectors are Engg related.I mean how will an MS student be able to compete for a job at Google?
As for scientist in a Pvt Company , sorry I have no stats.All I know is that you need a PHD and all , as no one hires just after grad.

Why not write a post about life as a Researcher?As in what to expect , where to work , salaries etc.

Yeah , ofcourse the jobs available to a engineer and a MS student wont be the same! There will be diff jobs..

e.g. in INTEL for research in semiconductors for a Physics student, etc. If you do MS in mathematics, you can branch out into financial statistics, computing, etc. IBM has IBM labs, which is doing research in genetics. There also you have job opportunities for a bio MS student, etc etc

And other thing, today all due to software boom, everyone - be it civil,textile, or mechanical enggs join software firms like TCS, infosys, etc. That line is also always open for MS students..

@bits360 Got to differ with you in this aspect...the highest paid ppl from R&D and sure every R&D dept has inputs from Science backgrnd
