yes if you look at your status it might frighten you

But if you go for indicative seat you get the right idea

and regarding IIT people doing it

I think there would be many who have got a good rank in EEE and yet due to non availability of net might not be doing it.

So it all neutralizes in the end.

Thats my view.

I feel that the status is really deceptive. Suppose a person (better rank than me) gives four choices so the status of all the 4 colleges rises by one fr me though that person is not gonna join all four colleges (He'll join just one) So is the case with with everyone.....

in the first counselling ppl shdnt fil up stupid branches..fill only gud ones..if u dont get then go for form 2 whr u can fill all colleges.....but u can specify branch in form 2..so dont fill up places wich have mining as u may have to take it..if u r okay wid mining then fine fill p those coll also

off campus is stupid....aieee counselling is gamble yar.....

Hey guys,
I took AIEEE 4 years back (Yes, I have completed my engineering now :) ). There are two aim of Off-line counselling.

first, is to tell you, your tentative position, What seat you guys may get, so that you do not panic after getting the UNEXPECTED branch.

second, and most important reason is to accustom you guys to real counselling, also so that you guys have the idea about your choices beforehand. This makes the process smooth and less time consuming.
