yes it is in banglore...thr are branches like ece,eee,cs,information sc.,civil,mech,biotech...u can chk thr site as thr some more branches...

thapar is not as good as we feel...i think that its wrong to say that u cannot compare the given institute...esp nit surat and thapar...simply becos nit surat is NIT wch is imp...iitg director today told me that give preference to students from nit in thr projects etc....interesting part was that he didnt know of thapar...

Thapar is definitely within Top 20-25 colleges of India, NIT Surat is like Top 45-50, PESIT is probably 60-80.
So almost anything in Thapar is better than most things in NIT Surat and better than anything in PESIT.

pls some replies...do u all agree with what akshay has written...is surat that below...the place surat as a whole is good...its in developing state...dont think surat is in 45-50..pesit may be 60-80...

even i dont think thapar is very good anymore(no offence only my perpective)
it used to be a good private insti but high fees really seem to be overshadowing its reputation
I've said it numerous times :
thapar=nit surat 'except the nit tag'............
i wud go to nit surat rest is upto u

see no idea abt pesit, where u r getting a gud branch....
nd comparing the rest two, i think
Thapar will be a gud choice (nd branch is also not dat bad)...nd placements in Thapar r on the decent side, so u can go for it....one of my friend has just joined Thapr Mechanical....nd he says coll is pretty gud....
And as far as NIT Surat is concerned, i think Civil branch is also gud, but on comparing NIT Surat wid Thapr, i guess Thapr is a bit on the higher side....

GO FOR PESIT ECE DUE TO THE GOOD BRANCH AND THE HIGH TECH CITY BANGALORE FACTOR.NIT SURAT IS NOT SO GOOD NIT TAG DOES NOT MEAN IT IS A GOOD COLLEGE. THAPAR IS REPUTED INSTITUTE BUT THE BRANCH IS NOT GOOD.
