i agree with what executioner says about year drops and along with a college...that is what is precisely worrying me...joining a top ranking college demands attention throught...and I dont know if i'll be able to manage both..

about a backplan in an NRI quota...thats not happening for me anytime soon...my parents want me to do a bachelors in india...i agree with them...secondly it requires shelling out HUGE amount of cash...which i dont think is gonna happen...cuz we aint that rich...

so whats probably gonna happen is that...I wud be definetly be gambling a year...i wud be giving all my entrances...but what i feel if i join stephens and then do it...my chances of getting through wud be quite low/,....cuz its along with their school that most people prepare for engg....but u dont hear top rankers in JEE from some heavy weight colleges...

I have slways believed in getting the best of all that is offered....I dont think I wud ever want to leave Stephens, its the best in the country man...for a crappy rank....But then I always think that I wasn't ment to do a plain Msc course.....I had made a strong mind earlier in 11th, its kind of boring hearing every1 close to you(family and relatives)..with a similar mode of education...

So the issue stil remains kind of unresloved...

Apply to stephen's, get admission there first. Don't let any bird(s) in the hand go. Study hard for BITSAT now, do not think about all this.

JEE rank is not guaranteed if you drop a year, i know a lot of people whos ranks increased (numerically), even though their preparation was better. Your prep and performance isn't the only factor, its all about how well you are positioned among all the candidates in that particular year.

Do 1 thing. Find out from Stephens if they'll take you in next year.

As far as the adverse effects of dropping a year on placements go, i've been told that they are rumours. However you might want to check with other people.

well i thought about this...ill concentrating on bitsat as of nw....btw guys....how is PAGE mock tests wrt actual bitsat ...???
