BUT THEN Y DOES A CHEMICAL ENGINEER GET A PACKAGE OF
ARND 3 LAC WHEREAS A CIVIL ENGINEER GETS ARND 6 LAC..

the kiit brochure does not give the details of any branch.it just gives the syllabus of the entrance test of various programmes.

see, this is based on your performance over there.
there is no reason why a chemical engg will not get a good package if he's among the toppers.
civil is going to be a very hot option soon so u may consider ranking it higher. generally ppl go by last yr closing ranks in which civil is ranked below. but the same thing applies there.. to get a good package u need to perform good there
