Such things do happen. Your friends who are jealous of your performance will try to bog you down. People have done it to me as well. However, I don't spare them, I tease them back as well. I am not saying that it is what you should follow, but in case they get on your nerves, you should follow the saying "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth".

An important thing is to remain modest at all times. See, if a person who is brilliant tries to show off, tries to show others that he knows everything, tries to act as if the sums that the teacher solves on the board is easy, he is inviting trouble. Always remain modest, if someone asks you will you clear IIT, just say I don't know. I have noticed that whenever I've asked some of my friends, who are good at academics, about how they had done in their test, they'd say yes, even though they didn't do quite well, simply because saying the truth would bring down their ego.

The reason why I am emphazising on being modest is because in case a person doesn't click in his exams, then he will become a great victim of criticism from his friends. People will say "He used to show off so much, and now he didn't even clear this exam.. bla bla".

You are intelligent, you are good at electricity, let it be so. Don't bother about those guys. In fact, the next time they call you AIR 500, simply say something like "I won't even know if I'll get a rank of 500 x 10, and you are talking about 500", anything like that, to get them off you. They know that you are good at electricity, and no one can change that. Prove them wrong when it comes to the final showdown, and concentrate on your studies. You have a long way to go.

All this is nothing yaar. You should be able to take care of them yourself. In the college hostel, you'll have to go through hell in the first year.

jab unke 500 kehne se u feel depressed...toh jab 50 ya 5 kahenge tab wat will u do...

Listen carefully,
Once they tease you by saying AIR-500 tell them yes I
will get AIR-500, don't be confused over ur ability.

Bcoz the ones who don't want u to go ahead of you will not
try but will actually pray for your "fruitless" try at JEE.
Once they are teasing you say that yes you will get AIR-:
But if they try testing your knowledge tell them:
"I don't need to answer your queries or tests, I will ans.
all your Queries the day I clear JEE with AIR-500"

Be confident enough to say that.
Regarding your weak mechanics.I suggest you to tell your
sir to teach you the whole of "Mechanics" once again and
Privately without your so called "Friends" knowing about it

And if they ask for any extra money plZ tell your parents
to co-operate as I know that money will make you get AIR
500 as Expected.

And you are supposed to study hard when you are a ranker
in your respective Area/region/classes.

There are still many people in my classes doing the same
with me too.They will try frustrating you so that bcoz of
ur mind bieng continuously deiverted in their Direction.
Even on this site many are there.

So my Friend.....think for ur AIM JEE and not about such
"Dis-Couraging" Things.

Dude hopefully ur query will have been answered.Aur bahut problem ho gayi toh bol de ki u were overconfident and all but work like mad behind the scenes.

p.s:Kinda suprising to see jatinroxx give advice to such a situation as he also indulges in mind games like these.(we go to same class)

The best way to do so is to think of the whole peer pressure issue like this. You have to appear in the exam on your own eventually.
No matter how good (or how bad) the guy sitting on the next bench is,

it will have no bearing at all on how well you can perform in the exam.

Writing an exam is an individual effort. Thus, logically speaking,

it is a waste of your precious time to think of how others around you are doing.

Your aim should only be to strive towards your own perfection. Your only purpose should be better yourself with each passing day. Your only competition should be with your present self, with the single motive to improve yourself. This is the most that you can do. And it is the best that you can do.
