hey frazer are you out of your mind or something . Highest package in iit delhi for cs branch was 24 lakh and the average package for all the students is below 5 lakh. most of the students in paper and pulp field are getting placed in it companies through mass requrtment and are getting package in the range of 3 to 4 lakh and you are saying that their average package s 7 lakh . Think before you speak man..

Even I have heard that.But some students in that field have been placed well , but not most.

even i do not agree with ramya...i tnk we all shud come out of the brand names and then look into our interests....i dont tnk i ll take a brancs in iit which i dont have interest... i d better go to an iit for my preferred branch...come on guys shud we live our entire life working in a field were do not have interest in and ..at the end of the day we shud feel happy with our life and work in the field were we want to....unlike ramya who chooses her career with "brand names"....dont do this mistake goiitians...

well i knw we are swaying away frm the topic.....but i want to answer to jamjam's query :
Dude whatever i say i say after valid proofs and justifications!......nd u r saying i m out of my mind.....bah!!!.........
IIT roorkee's info which i gave u is 100% correct and valid.......first u tell hw do u knw the placement stats of IIT Delhi???......i knw of IIT roorkee coz i hv asked the seniors over there nd my own cousin is there, and he has all the placement stats wid him.......nd if u want to see the proof, come to my home......i'll show u the paper in which everything is written....u r most welcome:).....then everything will be crystal clear!.....got it???......so u think before u speak??

Ok, Frazer...first of all, nice story about ur frnd...but i m in NIT Trichy...n i m sure there was no 1 in last 2 yrs who shifted frm CS here 2 IITR...GIVE MORE DATA OR STOP MAKING STORIES......
N anyway, what r u IITians so proud of??? U r all gud students, with High AIR in IIT...but thats only because u did well on a single day fr 3 hrs....Ne statistician will tell that the top 1% of such a high level exam have almost the same talent(xcept say, the top 200 stu)...now make sum calculations n find out how much 1 % of total IIT examinees mean...
Speaking or Infrastructure, we at NIT trichy dont get 100 crore govt grants / year... n i agree its less than IIT.....BUT ITS MORE THAN REQ FOR BTECH....WE R NOT DOIN PHD HERE....SO ALL THIS CRAP ABOUT INFRA IS NONSENSE....
Now fr Brand name....ya, IITs have a brand name...NITs dont...BUT HOW MUCH DOES IT HELP???(Ramya, this is fr u)
M speaking of CSE here....All top companies lyk Microsoft, google, satyam, infosys...etc etc cum 2 IITs n also Top 5-6 Nits...they offer same package...n dont take just 1/2 there...in NITT it was 8, 9 resp last yr.....n TCS etc comp cum 2 iits also, wid mass recrui, offering 3 lpa......
N so fr ur bragging about Sclum.....DO U WANT 2 STAY IN SIBERIA UR WHOLE LYF WID 44 LPA, WHERE THA COST OF LIVING REDUCES IT 2 SAY, 7 LPA BUYING POWER, DUE TO TRANSPORT COST ETC ETC, OR U WANT 2 SPEND UR LYF IN MUMBAI WID 5 LPA??????THINK!!

ok, n 1 more thing.....All that IIT does, is 2 improve ur path....u can impress the campusing guys easier...but rest is upto u...if u cant ans their ques, they wont take u, iit or no iit...thats y so many iitians go to TCS etc....n 1ce u join a comp, u r fr urself...u cant tell ur boss..."all right, i goofed this up, but i m n iitian, so u cant fire me"
I dont mean 2 hurt nebody, but i m wholly against this iit superiority cmplx....yes, many iit guys have done gr8, but thats bcoz they were gr8 brains, n wud hav succeeded frm newhere....
I m not comaring iit wid sum champulal col, but wid som of da other top col, lyk BITS, NIT(T,W,S,etc)....n there is not much of a diff......
