Non IIT Institutes
his is what I feel after a certain bit of research. Please correct me where ever I am wrong. The colleges are not in order of their ranks.
A GRADE (TOP 10)
Awesome! The cream colleges of India and the best amongst the best. A better bet than any other colleges in India and are reknowned to have global standards.
Anna University Guindy
B GRADE (TOP 20)
Very good colleges with good reputations and often heard of by laymen too. Those who miss A grade stuff or don't get good branches there sometimes land up over here.
NITs Warangal Tricky Surathkal Allahabad
IIITs Hyderabad Allahabad
BITS Pilani Goa Campus
C GRADE (TOP 30-40)
Decent colleges with decent reputations and often growing(as in the case of Jaypee). Usually better to go to these colleges compared to BSc/BA even from the best universities in India. All of these colleges aren't heard of by everybody.
NITs Kozhikhode Kurukshetra Raipur Surat Rourkela Jamshedpur
BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus
D GRADE (TOP 50-80)
Just about acceptable colleges which are the bare minimum that you should actually consider while choosing a BTech over a BSc. These colleges are usually not heard of by laymen.
NITs Durgapur Hamirpur Jalandhar Patna
E GRADE (TOP 80-200)
The bare bare minimum colleges that you might consider for a BTech and often a good BSc could be a better choice.
NITs Agartala Srinagar
The ranking posted here shows that NSIT is in Grade-A and DCE in Grade-B .
and ISM ,IIIT-H ,DCE & IT-BHU lie in Grade-B along with BITS Pilani Goa campus.
Dude, take a break.
outlook is crap. ask anybody NSIT> DCE
lakshmi niwas mittal institute of information technology....
u kni its one of the few institutes in india which competes with renowned institutes in india in terms of standards and facilities...
most of the professors here worked as professors at iitk...a great point to mention. it is one of the very few institutes which concentrates onthe field of information technology solely... and not many will leave vit for this institute .... u r true as the strength of the institute is itself very less... i am a live example for your question... i left vit.. having scored a rank of 2000 in viteee2007.
the top preference of multinational companies 4 recruitments r the colleges under HRD like IIT , IIIT & south nits like trichy, warrangal, surathkal, etc.& also like PEC, DCE privates like Thapar, BITS Pilani after dat they look or institutes like DAIICT, NIT Jaipur, Allahabad, Nagpur, KKRetc & few 2 collges like Jaypee , LNM,etc. so process goes like this this way u can classify into grades. The rankings that r published in magazines & newspapers r on the pbasis of infrastructure & placements not as good carrer. These media people dont know what comapnies want they only look at what colleges talk abt themselves, in these rankings what's the point that amity is in on 60, VIT on 10th position, IIIT Hyderabad on 30 which deserves place next to IITs, IIIT Gwalior at around 69, people just look at these rankings, what's the point that people prefer civil in NIT hamirpur before IIIT Gwalior&IIIT Jabalpur, or IIITDM Kancheepuram which is run by IIT Madras . These media rankings have created a mess abt admissions
