Hello, I'm from VIT and I've noticed quite a few threads with posters who seem bent on maligning my institute - posters who have no idea, who've never been to VIT and those who repeat the same lies which have been passed on from one person to another without anyone bothering to verify these claims.
I wouldn't have started this thread, but a friend of mine notified me of the alarming rate at which the number of prospective candidates were dwindling because of these rumours. My message to the students who were dissuaded from joining - Do not make a foolish decision guided by students who aren't in VIT in the first place. What do they know of the institute they've never been in the first place? One year ago I was in your position. The rumours at that time were of all kinds ranging from how 200 girls got pregnant to 40% of the students are drug addicts. Such nonsense! If VIT was really a college of which provided education of inferior quality, what would be the need to start such rumours? The poor education would be enough to turn the students away.. why these lies?
Regarding bribing India Today: are you really stupid enough to believe that you can bribe a national level magazine without taking any risk? The slightest slip and VIT wouldn't even BE in the list let alone get ranked. Think about it. VIT was ranked at 14 last year.. this year it's at 10. Is it because we paid extra? Heck no! I've been there the whole time.. I've seen the efforts the management took to put it where it belongs.
As a final request - verify your claims before you post them. It would be better for everyone if you posted what YOU found and not repeat what some liar has told over and over again. To the people who aren't attending the counselling even if they got ranks.. think again. You're missing a great chance.

in some other thread also i saw that u were thrown out.......no wonder .....there also u used abusive lines......and every one showed u the way out....and u are the most abnormal person i have ever seen....in those post u were like vit is heaven.....after u were thrown out from that thread ...u cm here wagging ur tail and say vit is hell......you r really weird...at least i have the guts to stick to my pt....

See what happens if u join VIT . I knew SEIFo he was an average guy in school days with not so good performance in acadmica (thats why he is in VIT) and not after joining VIT he has gone RETARDED ..
So guys remain as far as possible from VIT and Students studying over there..
look jamjam....about your topic "nit is great".....in that matter i and inquiztor are on the same side.....he also says that vit is bad but definitely it is ahead of the cheap nits you are talking about....except...trichi, warangal, suratkal, etc
no buddy ...iwont get it...because i am just hearing and havnt seen anything.....and i wish to stick to those pts abt which i am confident abt....but yes i will ask my friend from manipal to come to this thread clear the so called confusion for me
Dude i am from NIT rourkela and have seen VIT also..
My friend jamjam is from NIT jaipur and has seen vit also..
Both of us are saying that vit is nothing infront of any NIT (forget the ranking be it be from india today or outlook or any othre magzine )..
then why aint you ready to accept the fact ..
are we 2 lieing or u think that you know the best and we all are dumb..
I have mentioned nit bhopal........but the other ones no....way.....
now please no pt in keeping this thread alive .......i have stood by all the truth i have inside me.....you may believe me .....you may not....but i have sent my message accross......and so i am proud of it ..i thank all those people who participated and made this topic interesting.....but now i see no pt in continuing......so best of luck to all of u where ever u r......may u reach the greatest heights as possible......amen....

now ...........i think it has been quite a while for which no one has written in this thread..........i was just rather randomly reading this post..........and today i would like to point some questions to all the critics of vit.......
First india today speaks in favour of vit .....u said vit bribed india today.......
next DATAQUEST respected vit ......which according to VISHWANATHAN is the best ranking........
and then finally outlook gave its precious verdict in favour of vit........
are all the rankings false and only you people are right???????
tell me why cant it be the other way round??????
even big companies like sclumberger , microsoft , google , yahoo etc pay the due respect to vit.........so why do u give misleading information yo aspiring candidates.??????
remember rankings are based on every years performance........it is not supposed to be TRADITIONAL........IT is a basic fact that u need to realise........
ask any teacher of fiitjee , bansal classes...etc. they all count it among one of the best.........are they all loosers.... are they all somehow related to vit....or vit has bribed them to mislead the students......?????
Why dont u think for once why suddenly the world has started to worship vit?????WHY????
Why so many people are appreciating it......why APJ Abdul KALAM respects vit ??????
ARE u all more qualified than these great personalities........think .....think.........u people are all bright futures of INDIA......you should be able to think this out.........

look brother......nothing against manipal.......i myself wanted to join....but could not afford it..........and about management quota....the explanation that u gave...is the same for vit....vit also takes students under nri quota not management....but of course it just fir the sake of its name.......and you say which NAJAYAZ AULAD TOLD ME THAT.......a friend of mine...who studies in manipal........in his batch only there are quota students my dear......but oops i have talked against MANIPAL....WHAT A BIG DISASTER I HAVE DONE
