@akshay talwar
see friend i don't mean any offence ag. u.may be ur lnmiit has done well last year .as far as i'm concerned all institutes like lnmiit, sastra etc come under the same category..in this yrs rating list lnmiit may be better than sastra but that does not mean it is way better than sastra.the rankings do fluctuate every year.next year u may find sastra ahead.lnmiit maybe well known in the north, but u must realise that sastra is very famous in the south and is developing very fast.
Don't go by stupid rankings. It is probably like top 20 amongst private colleges or top 75 in total colleges.
http://iecolleges.blogspot.com/2008/06/top-10-private-engineering-colleges.html
1.BITS Pilani
2.IIIT Hyderabad
3.DAIICT
4.BIT Mesra Ranchi Campus
5.PSG College of Technology Coimbatore
6.BITS Pilani Goa Campus
7.Thapar
8.LNMIIT
9.JIIT
10.VIT
After these 10, there are so many colleges which are better than SASTRA. These include Manipal, SSN, RVCE and maybe a few more. So it is like top 15-20 in private and overall 60-70.
I would grade it as an acceptable college at best, nothing more. LNM or JIIT are far far ahead in the long run especially.
LNM VS SASTRA
LNM is like top 35-40
SASTRA is like top 60-70
I am talking of real ranks and not any crappy magazine ranks. Can you compare 35 wiht 70?
LNM is fast developing and in the next 10 years will be better than DCE and maybe even better or equal to top NITs. It is a new upcoming institution which is developing fast. Exactly same for JIIT. SASTRA will stay where it is even 20 years from now, at least no expected change seems likely.

LNM is not really costly, 1 lac per year is not that much, esp for good infra and faculty
