why are you so confused? I have not considered repitions. I have considered only the unique wavelengths. I have taken into account all the choices an atom will have. so in a sample of atoms, all the atoms would have the same no. of choices. A single atom could emit one or more of these wavelengths depending upon the transition. but all the atoms have to choose among these. even 2 atoms may emit same wavelength. But I have not given the no. of all the wavelengths. I have given the no. of all possible wavelengths.
