my opinion is that the main reason behind india's problems is democracy.

whenever we have a project like say a dam there are a few publicity hungry people (guess) who come forward and champion the cause of the so called oppressed. In china when the three gorges dam was built who knows how many people were forcibly displaced but when it contributes to the betterment of a nation such things dont matter.

we appear to the world as a timid race of weaklings. How do we deal with our rogue neighbours. look at Israel for that matter. Recently there was some contreversy that Israel bombed some area where a few Hamas militants were present and four children died in attack. Then as usual there were these human rights people condemning israel. but have these people ever contemplated that these same children could have joined Hamas in the future and kill many more Israelis ?

I wish I was born in some nation which had the guts to defend itself and not be bullied around in the entire world

Right coz the quota thing sucks.. I have a friend who is atleast 10 times ( not an exaggeration) richer than me but still he has a quota certificate  and hence will get IIT , IIM  and a government job very easily,  He got 180 in jee 2008 and i got 210 still he'll get a better rank(sc- list ) and branch then me............ hai na . This is what happens..

Lets analyse  the performance of 2 such candidates A and B thik hai

A got 210 in jee and B got 180

A didnt have a certificate but B had it

A got eml in jee result but B got an iit of his choice and the branch which he wanted.

4 yrs later a gets a BE degree and B  got the IIT degree as well as tag

See our marks difference does show that i may be better than him lekin kya karein... he'll be the one with a better pay and ofcourse the government job will be like just so easily available for him

I am also told that in the government jobs they have seperate promotion waiting lists ( rather than the normal process) , now these ppl have even started demanding quota in private companies.,,, my reaction wtf

@Pink_ele ,dudette , yaar u know a reason for the brain drain,(apart from high salaries,confirmed by my uncle who is now well settled in the SA (iit alumunus))

It is that the ppl get frustated with the nation 's biased policies, a nation whose ppl  dont  respect talent and give it due credit   .

Then they go abroad and find ki haan here ppl respect me coz its all on merit , someone with a paper certificate with " Reserved status" is not entertained here. Thats the reason that ppl prefer settling abroad

And Haan if u really want minorites to come forward why  the f%$$ are u not giving reservations to parsis and christians , The answer is as simple as 2+2=4, Votes thats what matters in  India..

I am also frustrated with India but i am proud of being an Indian ( we have reached so far after 61 yrs of our independence and taht aint a small job ofc quotas and other glitches aside.)

All the points raised by the Anti-India people seem to be valid, something which can't be said about the Pro-India lobby. But whether good or bad, it is extremely wrong to throw mud at your own country in this way in public. And disgraced is a very strong word. Frustrated, I can understand maybe, but not disgraced.

That said, I also don't see the point of statements like India is my country and that's why I'm proud of it. And basing your arguements on movies :P..

Jo hai so hai. If you can do something about it, do it. If not, sit quietly. When the anti reservation rallies had taken place last year how many of you had gone?

It's easy to criticize, harder to do something about it.. And there is absolutely nothing to be gained by whining about it on a goiit forum
