Well I'm going to appear for the IIT JEE 2008 and I'm myself pretty much pleased with thepaper this year... As all my tutors are saying the paper was meant to test your presence of mind and SOLID CONCEPTUAL understanding.. The NCERT has always been neglected since the last 10 yrs or so, but with the latest trend in mind, the paper setters want you to get BACK TO THE BASICS and don't start off with IE IRODOV and all... Its like you start climbing a ladder from the bottom and not just jump onto it midway. PLUS,, If you have done (so called) your IIT JEE preparation, then I beleive you must be thorough with AIEEE too, except a chapter or 2... So, the lesson of the story is : NCERT Zindabad, fir TMH |

| hey NCERTis not sufficient yar ................. its right that N.C.E.R.T clear ur concepts but it's not enough.............however JEE 2008 aspirants should switch their mind from difficult books like IRODOV we can replace it by H.C.VERMA which strikes ur concept.......................................similarly FOR CHEMISTRY AND MATHS we can do replacements.......................... |

I absolutely agree with hopeful here coz i think self study is the best mode of study for preparing for any kind of exam. I think one should first read his text properly before getting into the depth of the chapter. IIT have said that they want people with a good concept of the subject not Brilliant and fiitjee muggers!

mr. iithopeful is absolutely right. each & every point of his is jus correct.
especially he mentioned a point which is as follows:
And if it was a cbse based paper as all of u say....shouldnt it have been easier for you guys......are u guys too brainy or intellectual that u can do technically challenging questions but u cant do simple(as u say) questions. cmon who are u trying to fool. THE IIT PAPER SETTERS HAVE STUCK TO THEIR AIM.
he has done the right analysis ppl. agree with him ppl.
i dont understand, why u ppl say tht u cant solve simple fundamental based questions of JEE but can solve high class, twisted, analyical questions.
isn't it ridiculous? |

|
| i wholeheartedly go with iithopeful.......this year paper tested the basics of the subject....only those who had clear understanding of the subj could crack it .......the paper demanded the smartworkers not the hardworkers...... |

first tell me how many of u who have posted the comments believe in fate? did any of u gave the nda exam? remember the comprehension about happiness? it said we run behind material happiness. we aim for a supreme goal and then we neglect our emotions which do not go with the aim eg. playing and roaming with friends and after that we always remain unhapppy worrying about the fulfilment of our aim and once we achieve it the only happiness is only of achieving it. other all happines of our lives would have gone in that time. so cheer up. for what topic are u guys fighting. be satisfied with what u have and what u did and leave everything to god. who knows whats written in the book of fate for u?
and now dont bite or spit on me. the advice is only for the ones who believe in fate. |

hey all those ppl who r insulting the ncert as if you don't noe who the authors of the ncert are they r the well renowned iit professors those professors who set the iit paper every year. i myself have not studied ncert but i was able to solve the jee without any difficulty in my opinion the jee might have covered some basic questions but those were not of the mugging type these questions were derived from the steps that are used to solve the so called analytic questions so annybody who had its concepts clear and was able to solve the analytic ques could have got a good rank remeber my friends iit's do not want hard workers they want smart workers after all engineers are smart workers only

| Well i dont understand one thing.. y r the ppr setters playing games with students evry new yr... while last yr the ppr was made much difficult... the level of ppr was suddenly reduced by 5% dis yr.. wht da hell is it?? a student of last yr and a corresponding ranker of this yr wud be having gr8 difference in dere knowledge... all this sounds too rubbish... |

hey how can you say this if the paper is easy it is easy for all the pupils however it may be the fact that a brilliant student instead of getting a 50% last year will be getting 70%this year the marks will increase but the qualityof students will not change does an easy paper means that a brilliant student will not be able to solve it if this is what u think then my dear that student cannot be acknowleged as a good student.................. clear your concepts my friend |
