Urgent - IIIT Allahabad IT or NIT Surathkal CS? which should be kept higher in choice list.. Is the stream IT better than CS..
Also which NIT is better for CS in terms of faculty.. MY AIR is 2619.. Pleae give me the top 4 options for CS..

'faculties suck' - following is what I had heard in one other very trusted place.. Actually getting CS faculty is very difficulty, that is why ece closes far before in NITs as opposed to IITs.. This answer came directly from Prof, so I had some bad feelings about it..
I had filled my choice list as
- NIT warangal CS
- NIT Trichy CS
- NIT Surathcal CS
currently I will get IIIT Allahabad in first round while in later rounds, I will get all of the three as per my calculations.. I am not so sure about the first two, but atleast I would get one of them:) Lets see where I end up..
@rishi : "..the people most concerned about the departments and curriculum will be the ones neglecting it the most".. Dude I am not that padhaku types, but I lay much stress of faculty because I did not have good cs faculty in high school and blah blah..

HOHOHO iiit allaahbad it better htan trichy are you out of your damn bloody minds .
have you ever seen the opening and closing ranks of iiit allahbad its not even equal to nit jaipur and nit nagpur .
look iiit allahbad have gone down very badly in last few years its closing ranks have dropped and compairing trichy with iiit allahbad is the biggest joke of the millenium iiit allhabbd is avg college WHEN COMPAIRED WITH NIT TRICHY
DONT GO BY OPENING AND CLOSING RANKS. even if u dont go by opening and closing ranks NIT TRICHY AND WARANGAL were good even when they were REC. now it has become even better after becomin a NIT and its rate of developement is gone fast track. so without doubt NIT W AND T better than IIIT A
its no point to compair iiit allahbad with top 5- 6 NITS at all the avg salary in all these nits in cse and ece branch is close to or above 6lacs and overall too some top nits are brand and iiit allahbad is not at all a brand.
so just becasue the college name includes information technoogy dont make it a very very good college
and it can be considered a good college and cheta its anand gupta who think that IT is combinaton of ec and cs my god wat can we say to these people
@Chetan: glad that you came back and read that article.. But U have got me all wrong, I am not finalizing IIIT Allahabad.. I just told that I am getting it in the first round counseling as per the indicative seat.. Actually IIIT A is at choice number 9.. I will surely get something better in the next round probably NIT Surathkal in 2nd round.. and in 3rd round I may make to NIT W and NIT T.. Probably the counseling process was different at your times..
Also it was not me who said that IT is a combination of whatever.. I am trying to be logical, that why I am giving the reasons for my thinking.. In the first page I asked about NIT Surathkal and IIIT A? Just because I felt that IIIT A is specialised in IT and it 's new, so it might have better facilities and faculties.. Then after someone explained, I dropped that, see my question.. I did not compare NIT T with IIIT A.

@ asutosh the opening rank of iit h is 103, in second round first student was ith rank 1160.
and also first round close around 1067.
there is about 25 students below 1000 in cse.
