what do u think ?
None

I am a superman [:D] . I lift a helicopter from earth and go a certain height above the earth . Then i wait for earth to rotate , and soon america comes right below me and i come down . Hence i reach america  .

Is this possible ??

Assume that america does come under me for sure , wherever be my original position and also assume that i have a lot of time [:)]

Does look like someone will have to come in here to settle the question once and for all

@hsbhatt sir :- loll

i thnk feynmann sir is speaking correct..... guys see i would like to add 1 point.....if that helicopter which is still in the air (at a considerable height greater than radius out of gravitational pull) then just imagine ki that helicopter is in space waiting ki when america will come and suddenly superman seees that earth is not below him:) it is revolving arnd sun:))

But, normal physics laws dont apply to superman. He'll be anywhere he wants to be during that period of rotation. He can choose whether to be in India or in America, as he has control over his own inertia.

dei hari, you too with this man?!!

see, feynman sets up diff equations for the radial direction and ignores the tangential direction about which we are arguing? So how can this qn be settled if he continues to talk in a tangential direction

How will Coriolis force land up in the radial direction eqns, puhleeez?!

Again a sign of stupidity !!

Dear  Phystd,  do u know a little bit about how the conservation of angular moentum comes into the polar eqn ?

It comes from the angular potion of the eqn

as \frac{d(r^2\frac{d\theta}{dt})}{dt} .....................(1)

since no-force is acting in the angular direction ( as argued by me previously )

so that from (1) anguar momentum turns out to be constant .

This follows entirely from angular eqn with no influence from the radial eqn .

Got it ?
