one more thing is tht ppl shud post the ans along wid the question but it shud be kept invisible...i mean it shud be lik "click to reveal hidden conten" under which the ans shud b posted...so tht wen ppl solve question they can chk their ans b4 postin soln..as posting soln takes a lot of time.....n many ppl who post questions tend to go offline b4 posting soln...so it gets quite irritatin

Yaar , first of all i think we come on this site and learn so much .And for absolutely free!! (do anyone of u pay a paise??

) Then why are all of us members going that this shud be there and this shud not be there, i guess we shud be grateful for what this site is doing?(even i have problems with formula editor, hate it ) Remember, the admin is taking out his personal time for this site. U have to give him his own time.

ashwin123, please go read all our posts once again. Everyone single goiitian who has posted so far is very much greatful to the admin and his panel for maintaing such a wonderful website. No one said "this and that should be done". We just suggested some things to improve the quality of the site, which i believe, is in the best of admin's interests. Infact, he himself encouraged us to post suggestions.

Though all of us have made numerous suggestions, I think it will take time for goIIT to incorporate features like LATEX (I doubt if its possible here) into the text editor. Moreover, the altitude section should be divided into two as konichiwa2x rightly pointed out, as I've seen many people gaining altitude by simply posting articles from the internet, though this it not a big issue. And please look into the expert panel:

Apart from the aforesaid experts, you should incorporate two more students for each section, as we need an active expert panel to help the newcomers, as the next batch of freshers must be ready to enter goIIT. There are many choices like feynmann, anchit, nadeemoidu, koni himself, elastiboysai, etc etc... If they are willing of course.

I hope the admin sir atleast tries to incorporate a few of the above before our JEE :)

Dear Admin,

To begin with, thank you maintaing such a wonderful website. Goiit has been a core element in JEE preparation and has surely helped us in umpteen ways. Words cannot possible describe our gratitude.

I would like to make certain suggestions which I (and most of my friends) feel would help improve the quality of the forums/website.

1. The text editor - No offense, but the editor is not very useful. It takes a lot of time to type using it and moreover it doesn't function properly. Often, the entire post just gets erased for no reason. And you know how irritating that can get, especially after one types a really long post and is just about to press the post button.

I think it would be useful if you incorporate latex or equation editor as it is 100 times easier to understand and also saves a hell lot of time. Many of the users are already well versed in latex.

Our new equation editor is almost ready. its taken a while to implement and bring out.. its way too difficult to use the current one even by the ones who created it.. so cant expect others to try hard for it. :) will still take a small while to bring out, but we r on the verge of exploding with features soon and been arranging some serious industry to come in and contribute to take the forum/gang t the next level... hence the slow pace in getting features etc out.

2. Altitudes - Though altitudes are a wonderful way of keeping track of one's progress and also maintain the competitive spirit, it's purpose is being eroded ever since the community shelf was introduced. Altitudes no longer represent the "skill" or "effort" taken by the users. Any person who can cut/copy/paste from the net and post in the community shelf can acquire up to 1000 points within a couple of days. Hence I suggest, the altitude be divided into 2 : one for problem solving and other for contribution to goiit.

i'm personally not sure about this. some more debate might be required roping in all experts to decide whats right. somehow the currentl system is fair as long as moderations keep happenin and spammers are controlled.

3. Experts/Moderators - Though we do have an excellent expert panel, most of them are inactive. There are some who have never made a post. Shocked

Please do something about the situation. I would suggest making hsbhatt (maths), feynnman(physics) and dev_22oct (chemistry) experts immediately. All of them are simply superb.

3 people have been almost on verge of being granted experts status. Mr. hsbhatt is sure the first choice right now. the effort he's put in for the community is mind blowing and i belive is recognised by all and sundry. so is feynman , greatdreams, dev_22oct and others.. give us a couple of days to get the permissions from panel

4. Challenge forums/mock tests/goiit tests - As you may have noticed, lately students have been holding a lot of mock tests/challenges. It would be nice if a separate sub forum was made for these. Also, it would be help the students in their preparations very much if goiit was to hold a test series and give the marks/rankings etc along with solutions to the questions.

huff... been working on getting content for that.. we will eventually make this a place where everyone can share questions.. that situation is just a month away. so the features you are expecting right now, will only be a small version of what we are planning.
