And given the choice. I'd take BITS Goa campus, for the good location :)

Well location factor depends on person to person.But it shouldn't be a prime factor.

Its good that you have understood the "1 College 3 Campuses(in India)" philosophy.
In fact BITS :Goa Campus was created as "BITS Pilani Goa Campus" becuase our ex-VC Shri Venkateshwaran(who implemented the expansion plans) wanted it that way.

Some facts :-
Nit jaipur bits goa
Year of establishment 1964 2003
Type of college Deemed university Affiliated to Bits pilani but not a deemed univ.
Highest package for year 2007 32 lakhperannum 9 lakh per annum
No of students selected in IIM 42 Less then 5
for the year 2007
% of foreign placements 20 % No idea
Lowest package 3 lakh per annum 2.7 lakh per annum
Now i dont want to speak further but the fact is that at this point of time bits goa is no where in vicinity in first 30 top technical colleges and there is no chance of that happening in the comming 15 years.

its another thing to ignore the facts and another thing to formulate ur own facts...ha ha..i think all the seats in iims r occupied by nit jaipur students only..and i tnk the highest package there might even a touch a crore this year..and foreign placements will be 100%...u seem hell bent on demeaning bits goa..nice fact formulation though..with these kinds of figures,the day is not far when nit jaipur displaces iit bombay from the to p spot..ha ha.ha,ryt mr jamjam..now u r happy.be happy

Estb in 2004 , 1st batch is currently passing out.
Lowest package is wrong , its 3.00 lpa .
And foreign placements , its lesser than yours , no doubt.
Highest Foreign Placement is $60K , domestic is 9lpa.
CAT selections , at least 5 in ALL IIMs , and I don't know others.
But how about this :48 foreign university calls with financial aid/scholarship and many others too?
2 calls from UCB , 4 from Stanford , similar from Cornell?
Your placements at this stage will be better than ours.But remember its BPGC's first placement cycle ever.
By the way 42 is a very high figure.Much higher than Pilani and IITs

42 is as accurate figure as it can be ..Almost everyone in our college knows about it . its other thing that you are not accepting the data and bent on showing a wrong image about your college..

The foriegn university list has been compiled finally. It has been attached to this post.Any idea how to display it here?I tried pasting it into the reply box but thats not working.
Notes:
1)Dubai list not fully released.Compilation for all campuses is still in progress.
2)Total Admits
a)Pilani = 217 admits for 70 students
b)Goa = 111 admits for 33 students
3)33% of all calls have some kind of financial aid(roughly same across both campuses).
4)Average no. of admits per (students who applied) is P= 3.1 and G=3.36.
5)In Pilani , 70 students out of about 650 passing out this year have got foriegn calls.(10.76%)
In Goa , 33 students out of 396 passing out have got the same (8.33%)
Other students who joined in 2004 are dualites , i.e. they will pass out next year.

dear friends,................
how to identify a gud college.........
1).....it should provide an oppertunity for placements for all the students passing out.i mean oppertunity becaz the college has the responsibility just to bring the companies and its the students who have to impress the company officials.AS far as bits goa is concerened placement is something not to worry.becaz students who join to bits keep up a level which is enough to impress the officials......
2)...ACTIVITIES OF THE COLLEGE.....the college students should be active in all feilds.becaz the company officials dont want any 10p monkeys who just know to perform in exams.they want students wit various capabilities.to proove tht capabilities college need to provide TECH-FEST,CUL-FEST etc..a student who make a gud contribution in tech-fest proove themself tht they r ready to come to this competitive world to proove wht they r......as far as bits is concerened.........tech-fest is superb.quark in bpgc and apogee in bppc r superb.moreover bits students had prooved their abilities in techfest of iits.one interesting fact ...one first year student from bits goa won tycoon which is national level examination where anyone can participate...
3...)acessibilty to a college....if the college is in a place which lack propper transportation then that college is stampped as BAD COLLEGE........
4...)climate of a college........the climatic condition of a college should be favourable for the students.as far a BITS PILANI GOA CAMPUS(BPGC) is concerend climate is superb......hope remember those stuff u learned in geogrphy tht coastal areas r having a not hot not cold climate.
5..)faculty of the campus..actually i put this point only as the 5 one becaz in most of the eng colleges student study themself.they approach teachers for some extra stuff.......for example me and my friends had to consult the mech deprtment for a help to make a robot....so attitude of the facuty also matters.....
6..)projetcs done by students........it will be gud if u have an acess to the projets done by the students.the standard of the projetcs prove the innovative mind of the students.
as far as bits is concerened i haerd tht BIITS pilani students r making a robot worth lakhs.as far as bits goa is concerened.....i dont have a long list of projetcs,becaz ours is a 4 year age college......but still we a have a bit..........some of our seniours made a car wit some extra features in minimum cost.the eee department is also making some gud contribution(since its not completed i dunno wht they r making)..
some clubs r formed in the BPGC campus in acossiation wit CYPRESS.though this clubs we can learn some extra stuff than normal syllabus..for example we can learn microcontroller programming...and other similar stuff......
so these r some imp points to be remembered.................i may have forgot some important points.......u may add if u want.plz rate me for this
