vit is crap ......i expected 80 marks in viteee 2008 and got arank of 17000............my friend expected 69 marks and he got 11000 rank.........i mean this is so crazy

being ranked 10th does put all of the vitians n moi (bein one of them) on the 7th cloud...it is flatterin to be a part of an inst. thts ranked 10th. but gettin bck to earth frm cloud 7..in reality vit is not as gud as nits and bits..atleast as of now..it will undoubtedly take atleast nxt 3-5yrs tym to b on par with thm...thr r a loooottt of places whr vit has got loopholes.

but being a student thr..i wud nly partially agree wit da statements of vitians having lower IQs n in another linked thread whr sum1 had statd tht a vitian wud probably reply tht (a-b)^2 wud be sum stupid ans...well thts shit buddy...thts complete crap. iit,bits etc kid r smart no doubt but we arnt dumbos studyin some crap without ny knwledge. this concept basically cums frm ppl thinkin tht coz vit has kids taken in thru nri quotas n management quotas n all tht...but buddy tht doesnt mean we r fools. i have nri friends who r much better than many merit kids n hav amazing knowledge on a wide spectrum of subjects. management students also get 9 abv gpas...moi being an nri n got into vit by donations..i get a gpa of 9.5-9.8 each tym.

n rumours abt in-tyms bein 5pm for gals is crap..its 7:15pm ...n gals r allwd in libs or confrences till 10pm. rules r a little strict but in most south indian colleges rules r maintained in a similar fashion.

it wud be senseless to rubbish vit...it mite no be the best or mat not deserve the 10th rank...but it isnt a useless collg nor is the management all tht bad as ppl potray it. moreover to all those ppl who speak shit abt vit without even visiting it or studyin in it..jus shut up ignorant ppl..we r no fools..if we praise vit in some aspects its in those where it does deserve those praisins...n for ppl who gettin into collgs this tym...choose vit if u dunt get in nits,iits, n bits...it is the nxt best option...n

at the end of the day its hw u study..its not the faculty,its not the kids arnd u...it just U and UR INTEREST n ur perseverance tht will get u success n nuthin else!!!

well i think given the fact that the viteee entrance exam is taken by 1 lakh+ students[not a common feat...not many engg examinations can boast of dat] it has the potential  2 b a really good college from bein a moderately good college...but wat is bad is the admin thr who is hell bent on sacrificing student quality 4 makin money thru bakdoor admissions

All you 12th standard pass diaper wearing two digit IQ bearers should learn to READ properly, ANALYSE what is written, and then put forth a LOGICAL argument countering the post intead of the "my dhobi told me VIT sucks" trip.



I dont think you even derserve to go to ghasitaram inginaring kaaleg (no offence if somebody here is a student of that college) if you keep replying like this. Engineers are supposed to have 'analytical skills', not brainless yapping skills. Seifo has make quite a few valid points. A lot of that crap about VIT = rumours. EVERY COLLEGE HAS PEOPLE WHO DRINK, SMOKE AND DO DRUGS! BE IT MIT, IITs, BITS, MANIPAL, or VIT! 

The admission criteria for a college does not have too much to do with the research projects going on in the institute. I myself once called up VIT for kicks, to check how much i'd have to pay for a seat. 8 lacs for Comp Sci, I was told. However, that does not mean that college is absolute bullsh*t! I know quite a few brainly people in there.



Every college having a high fee structure/donation admission isnt bad! If that was the case, all the top american univs would have been 'bad' you retards! Most americans cant send their kids to college because of the high costs! Manipal Medical College is highly reputed, they have NRI seats too!



One of the biggest mistakes we make is judging 'student quality' on the basis of performance in Entrance Exams... how can 1 bleddy exam determine your QUALITY? It just reflects your preparation for that exam..or maybe ur performance within those 2-3 hrs.. There's so much more to a person than what he did in those 2-3 hours! Trust me, after being in BITS for a year, there are a LOT of achievers who had low scores in the entrance, and a lot of HIGH scorers who're considered absolute dumbos.



Maybe VIT isnt the best out there, but it sure as hell is not as bad as you pre pubescent wankers make it out to be.

i personally do not believe in indian rankings as it is !! But as u said dat ur college has been making efforts and everything well all dat mite be true !! and if dey really are den dats really good !! cuz as it is ders a serious dearth of colleges wich provide education wid very good infrastructure like VIT !!!

look i dont noe whther uve read oder posts regardin da exam!! We all were stumped by da disparity in our ranks in da exam !! i my self got a rank much lower dan anoder frend who was getin marks much less dan me !!! We checked our answers by da same solutions by the way !! look i mean its really amazin dat dey dnt even give us our scores wen dey give out our result !!! obviously no action can be taken cuz VIT is private and dosent cum under the RTI Act !!

How can you be sure that your friend was getting lesser marks than you? He could have told you his expectations but might have told you lesser marks instead of telling what he really was expecting as a safety net. Take my example... I was expecting more than 100 last year but I told everyone I was getting more than 90. Because if I said that I'm getting more than 100 I would get ridiculous taunts and furthermore... what if I got 8000 or something after telling everyone I got more than 100 marks?

Think of it in this way: your friend and you have no relationship with VIT. Why would VIT prefer to give him i.e the one with lesser marks a better rank than you who think you have done better. What will VIT gain?

@whoever lied that VIT called them up to give better ranks.

I've already asked you not to lie. Given a choice between accepting 50000 and giving you a better rank, and accepting lakhs to fetch you a seat in the management quota.. Which one would they choose? If VIT was really as money minded as you proclaim, why would they choose the first option over the second? Contradiction completes the proof. Hence, you've been lying. 

well let me take the example of the result that has been out after viteee......you probabaly would have given iitjee...i  dont know that you have a ra nk or not but....many of my friends after getting 200 + didnt get a rank.....and in some other blog aperson said that he was expecting 176 on dot and got arnk of 2000......NOW YOU ask THE SAME OLD QUES .....how did this happen.....well let me tell you ....you probably calculated your marks....from times soln didnt you..??? now i believe it is the only one that provides the soln....when iitjee solns were out ..at least 10 of them were available.....and some of them.....varied to the extent of hell.....

so first pt solns could have been misleading.....

second.....people have a general habit of faking there marks infront of peers and parents....some people say more marks and some report lesser than the expected......i myself belong to the latter group ......because what if i tell those expected marks and i dont get them......would nt it cause embarressment????

third...have you ever given a mock test at home on an omr......this is a mistake that i commit very brilliantly ...i mark the option on the line of another questio.....and it happens because of the design of omr

fourth....did you mark your answers on question paper and then check......or the checking was memory based

fifth....yes there could have been a mistake commited by vit......but i will take an example for you to think over....in exams of aieee there are many wrong questns.....tell me did you find any wrong one in vit......i dont think so...because i havnt seen any reports on it... so it shows that vit takes good care in making the question papeR....so the trend suggests that there checking should not have been faulty.....

now the pts can go onto infinity......if i continue......but i suggest to you ...that in life it is allways bettr to question yourself than questioning others....if you think that you have commited mistakes ..then you would  give yourself a room for improvement......... so i suggest the blame game is very nasty

well these r the rumers that rerally hurt me...last year the councelling went to 10000 not 20000...and that has a reason also vit held coucelling before aieee results and took 70000 bucks at the councelling itself....this year...the cuncelling is after aieee results.....and the councelling fees is 30000 ....NOTICE CHANGES THEY ARE BRINGING.....doesnt THIS HINT ANYTHING TO YOU.......

confused and cant relate it to this topic iwill do it for u......these r all underdogs who became champions...and ....the very same is the case.....with vit.....vit is the under dog who is playing and winning like champion....its performance above expectations....is the main reason.....for the many raised eyebrows
