I just want to know what people think on this.
Do they think that its good they didnt get seats,and now iit will be filled with smarter people,or angry that they blocked our seats and didnt even get seats themselves?
Or absolutely anything that comes tp your mind.
the article also said that fifty % of the sc & st seats are vacant
so the actual % of sc & st candidates is TWELVE % instead of twenty two
actually vacant seats are good for the IITs as the faculty:student ratio improves and five hundred ppl enjoy the resources and facilities meant for six hundred students
so they {vacants seats} are actually a blessing in disguise for those who are selected but a pain in the arse for those who missout narrowly
sc n st guys might sneak in through the back door but they have a very tough time at IIT
most of them dont finish the degree in four years
those who do manage to do it are five pointers ( u can say bye bye to a good pvt sector job if ur gettin a cg like that & it also ruins ur MS dreams}
the only option for these guys is to use reservation again and give CAT & IAS where their selection is almost guaranteed {if they r lucky they are picked by some PSUs as even they have reservation}
even after taking the preo course most of them give jee again hoping to get a better branch than the one they ll get after the prep course
so a lot of sc n sts who have qualified this year are prep course students of last year{the vacant seats will be in less preferred branches and after one year of coaching @ IIT getting a hundred marks in jee shouldnt be that difficult}
