Well, if u see the statistics of placements, u will c that not all IITs have 100% placement. So, wat do u say for those students who have an IIT brand but don't get a job? Wat is the use of the IIT brand then, u say? Therefore, there is nothing like that. If u really study hard in Agricultural and Food Engg in IIT Kharagpur, then it is fine for u. Although Agricultural and Food Engg doesn't have much scope. But, CSE has a huge scope and NIT Warangal is jst as well known as any IIT coz when we think of Engg Institutes in India, three things come to our mind - IITs, NITs and BITS Pilani. And, then there r other reputed colleges but certainly a top NIT with a top branch is better with a huge scope. Now, this was my opinion. Others may have other opinions. Then, finally, it is ur personal choice!
If you are not interested in an engineering job,then definately take iit kharagpur.
After doing an mba,you'll fly like anything.
Arun Sarin,the current head of vodafone did mettalurgy at iit kgp.
Look at him now.
Thats what iit does to you.
Take NIT warangal only if you REALLY want CSE and cant live without it.
I think above post is the perfect example .
IIT is your launchpad , there's NO SUCH THING as good branch or bad branch !
Who said Agriculture has no scope ! Did Respected M.S.Swaminathan think alike ?
An' it was so long ago , when literally every career in India was bleeding .
I must tell you its not that simple to get a branch an' presto ! you get a successful career unless you are an IITian , that is .
You need to work hard , go for placement records , CSE doesnt give highest placement in none of the TOP SEVEN IITs .
So think different not like the rest of the world .
I AGREE WITH SHASHANK AND SARTHAK..............ITS NOT THAT CSE HAS EXCELLENT PLACEMENTS AND THERE IS NO SCOPE OF LOWER BRANCHES IN IIT................ TAKE ANY FIELD IN IITS AND IF YOU ARE AMONG THE TOPPERS THEN DEFINATELY YOU WILL HAVE WIDER OPPORTUNITIES IN YOUR CAREER.....................................

The benefits of being part of the IIT system
Distinction in placements + further down in yor life
NITW , may be offering you a course you may like ,
but IITKgP is givin' you Agr.. ok see you have two options :
1. Work hard in your first semester , change your branch It is possible !
2. There's is minors in KGP where you can do subjects noutside your area like you can do compsc. if you got ineterest or electronics chemical
And use it in your field an' make a lot of hard work in your Btech. to turn out a specialist an' distinct student in your field
You dont acheive anything jus by hoppin' into a popular branch wagon .
If you are an acheiver you will follow one of the two options an' surly you will succeed .
Take your decision an' be responsible for it !
