guwahati is a emerging city. u will find a good city life here. nd also d iit guwahati campus is very beautiful.

I don't think so...with the recent blasts occuring last year..and the problem of naxals..it's gonna b difficult...but most of ur time wil be spent in the campus ..so not much to worry...

there are no naxals in assam. nd regarding d blasts, such incidents happen in many other cities also. at d present, i would say, guwahati is pretty safe.

I dunno but it seems a bit strange to stay in a place whr thrs a lot of unharmony...or campus lyf rox anyways

frm outside it does seems a bit scary, but when u come to live here, its very much like d rest of india.trust me on this as i am frm guwahati.

whn u talk of ghy, blasts and all do seem scary... but the campus is an hour's time away frm the city(if u go by clg bus), and there's full security at the campus..so it's pertty safe. u get evrything(almost) at the campus, but we do go to city, it's kinda developed..u'll find evrything at G.S. road...dere r still a lot more places to roam about..the ferry ride across brahmaputra is gr8 specially for 1st timers..u can also go to nearby places like shillong, tawang etc. wid friends..enjoy like hell...(u get all info in the fresher's guide :-)

..campus is scintillatingly beautiful..and life's gr8...u'll hav fun...btw which branch did u get?
