Better in what sense? PI and CS are very different courses. What are YOU interested in? Go for that. If you have no interests at all, then just go to IITR, because even though it is very good, ITBHU is not an iit -> fact of life.

Ok, it IT-BHU became an IIT, it would not happen overnight, a notification would be issued first. No such notification was ever issued in the Gazette of India. If you're still not convinced, just see that it says that "admissions to 15 IITs, IT BHU and ISMU... " so why are the IITs and IT-BHU mentioned separately? Or why does the website not make even a mention of its up-gradation? I don't say that IT-BHU it below the IITs in anyway (it's better than the new IITs for sure). So be happy that you could be going to such a great institute and be proud of what it is rather than what you want it to be.

see srijan the point is that in a conflict such as your's it is always better to go for the brand it may be possible that u could get 1-2 lacs more in it-bhu but the brand name of iit r shall help u rise to a good postion in 1-2 years also mba from foreign university becomes easy if ur in iit.
also chahe koi kitni bhi equivalence ki baat ker le aek iit main hona aur kisi bhi aur insti main hone main aek farak to hai hi
