Is preparing for IIT a good option after its fall in America?
None

Does preparing for IIT help in designing a good future for Indians after the new rules being imposed by the president Obama? Are their any other options for IIT aspirants? Are people from India still being selected?

America is not the only place to go. And still those who have the most value from India are the IITians.

well, im absolutely shocked that your reason for preparing for iits is just because you want to work in america!
i've given jee 2009 and irrespective of the rank i get, i can surely say that these two years have been the most enjoyable of my life....

secondly, the purpose of existence of IITs is not to serve the american economy....!

personally, i find it disgusting that several students who study in IITs availing subsidized educational facilities eventually go abroad and assist foreign economies...............

well, i personally feel that desire to live in america is no reason to study for JEE.................u may as well enter some private college paying donation.................

Though I agree with most of what u said, I cant agree with this. IITs have almost doubled their fees in d recent past. And if you haven't noticed, BITs fees are slightly less than IITs, inspite of being a 'private college'... And the money the IITs get from Govt is all our tax money! So u cant force som1 not to go 2 and iit, jus becuz they want 2 go abroad.

I agree with akshay. If you want to crack IIT just for the sake of going abroad. You might as well don't do it at all. IIT is a dream nourished thousands of students in INDIA. It is arguably the best institute in the world.For yur information even MIT prof hold it in high regard (for B Tech courses atleast) and the respect will not go overnight just because some one tries make som new rules

 @Tuhin Sarkar

Im not an anti patriot or something, but u cant compare IITs with MIT. MIT is 1st in d world, while only 2 IITs are in d top 200... Ratings aside, tell me, there is 1 MIT and >7 IITs, but how many noble prizes have been grabbed by any IIT compared to MIT. Leave that, you may say noble prizes are biased! Tell me how much innovation and research IITs have contributed to the world compared to MIT... Im not saying IITs are bad, they are undoubtedly THE BEST in India, and maybe the best in Asia too, but don't compare it with MIT... If I hurt n1s feelings, Im sorry, this post wasn't meant to... just want to clarify some peoples absurd claims

@atika

And 1 more thing, many americans are coming to India, because job prospects are better over here... so u need not think of leaving India.
