Hey cast your vote here and let everyone know what you feel about the decision taken up by the committee to consider board marks for IIT's

I don"t think it should be done as students from boards other than CBSE will face difficulties as they get low marking. Example is in my state apart from rank holders (10 no.) only few get such percentage but in IIT many students get whose percentage are not 85%. One such example is one my friend Avrodeep Bhowmick (Gen) whose percentage was about 85% but got AIR 34 this year & topper of IIT Guwahati zone.

according to the present system we have for selection into the reputed institutes, not many students who don't attend coachings and tutions can clear JEE or get a respectable rank in AIEEE.

if a student has potential and is able to secure appreciable marks in CBSE,which is not only cramming up things anymore, with the introduction of HOTS and 30% practicals, then the student must get a position in a good college.

what the scenario today is, is that students are forced to attend coaching classes coz without that less than 2% students clear JEE.

this has led to the creation of the huge education market!!!!

the question that arises in such a case is "if students have to do everything in coaching classes, then why must they even attend school???!!! or if someone is paying complete devotion in school then why must the student attend a coaching class???"

if people have a doubt that badiya students and gadho mein koi difference nahi bachega, then what the hell is CBSE for???? refine the syllabus!!!

and the board should be a centralised one. thrash all state boards. make a refined central board!!!!

and in such a situation we will get atleast some respite from the reservations!!!! how can u compare a SC securing a lakh rank with a general category student securing a 20 thousand rank??!!!!

IF BOARD EXAM BECOME THE CRITARIA THEN BOARD EXAMS BECOMES TOUGHER THEN AVERAGE STUDENTS WHO DONT WANTED TO DO IIT IT BECOMES DIFFICULT TO THEM TO PASS EVEN 12TH CLASS THEN ILLITRACY RATE INCREASES.

is baat ko bhoolne ki zarurat nahi anuj.

since the last few years the syllabus has gone through a lot of changes for the betterment.

and what do you expect?? a student can either do well in boards or in JEE. and mind it dude, a very small fraction can do well in both in the same year.

and if u ask for the relevance of 12th marks, then campus placements mein pata chal jaegi importance.

The decision of Pan-IIT is to be respected.They've made the right decision.I'm surprised to see many people voting on the negative.It is you who has to adopt accordingly and not the other way round.This decision eliminates students who give JEE for namesake.

It should not be increased to beyond 70% considering all boards......

@Tanveer...Dude.Plz don't get angry if I say u r wrong.K lemme take myself as an example.I've studied in two different boards.ICSE till Class X and state board in classes XI & XII.The general opinion is that ICSE is the most difficult board,but in my opinion.It is the easiest.It doesn't ask students to mug things up.All they ask is to understand the subject and apply it.In state board it's all about mugging up(it's a bit difficult for me).U see scoring 85% in other boards won't be difficult in other boards.I gave both boards without much preparation(to be perfect.I studied only a month b4 these exams) and could score 90% both times.
