A fresh brain understands topics better than a complex brainSince for a new comer every topic is important and he gives his full efforts in that topic but for a repeater it doesnot go as smoother as it has be

Hey that's not true...Im a dropper n im sure i'll clear JEE this year...n loads of my frnds have all done well after dropping...It totally depends on you...if you manage to sustain interest in your subjects throughout the year there's no reason why you shouldn't clear JEE...

My teacher used to say that if it requires to break a wall with 20N force then you can never break the wall with 18N no matter how many times you hit it. A person who drops dare usually people who didnt paid attention to study in class 11 and then in class 12 due to boards and parental pressure they some how mug-up and then give boards and then take a drop as they see many people take and then they join some coaching and so on. Such people are usually driven towards study and lack natural passion for the subject.I wont call them dumb-driven asses but they should pursue their interest i guess. The second category of droppers is even worse. They are usually those living in far-off villages and town who come to know about world after +12 due to lack of information in the form of TV or internet.Till +12 they dont have competitive spirit(in general) as their friend circle consist of similar chaps. I mean they may have talent but they are not able to judge it and after +12 they crowd in big cities for coaching. The third category is the Cream layer. They are people who couldnot study in +12 due to some acceptable reason like : casuality, illness during exam, financial crisis but inspite the all has not been able to extinguish the fire of competitiveness within.Such people should always take a drop. So, since in general droppers are mostly of category1 and category2 hence my the naturally-obvious lemma they dont do well hence the droppers dont do well

i think it depends on an individual... if you performed well in your first attempt.. (like a rank of around 5000).. and still have the spirit to study.. then you should definitely take a drop.. because if you lose this opportunity of getting into an IIT.. then you would curse yourself for whole life... because no other college in india can give the experience like that in iit.. (not even bits pilani)... so dont ask about anybody's opinion and start studying.. :).. wish you good luck for jee 2011
