This is my prediction about the ranking!!..may be wrong no guarantee...
1. The paper is checked and totaled.
2. The persons lying in the bottom 20% by the aggregate cut-off are eliminated first.
3.Then to the remaining students the marks of top 80% in each subjects are treated as the subjective cut-offs..and students acquiring all the subjective cut-offs are sieved
4. The marks of the Nth student(1.3*total seats) is treated as the aggregate cut-offs.
5. The N students are given a general AIR with the lower 0.3*total seats getting the place as EXTENDED MERIT LIST for admission to IISER and IIST.
Well thats my guess.....Others please put forth your views!

u hav actuallyed swapped thgs....where u hav written aggregate cut off u shud hav written subject wise cut offs..still its not 100% convincing to me....can u temme...wat does this mean...cut offs are obtained as fractions of marks.... stuff lik tht.....wats the stuff regarding regarding relaxed and non relaxed norms....for subject wise cut off they r taking relaxed norms and 4 aggregate they r taking non relaxed norms...actually i m myself going nuts wid this...

Read the circled thing carefully................... That will denote my points 2 and 3
I really didnt pay much heed to the OBC things at all ....But now things come as a SHOCK !!
See the strikedthrough yellow box...It says ranks till 1.3*N in all categories....
I mean WTF?..are they going to give (1.3*4)*N ranks...coz the lowermost brown box sums up them all
Don't bother about all these..let 30th come then all will be clear!
This Flowchart is not even one-directional.....so its very hard to get the flow of things!

This thing really applies to them!

First question arises here that how do they decide a subjective cut off. They will not just randomly assign some mark as cut off depending on the difficulty of the paper. It has something to do with relative performances of candidates. As synner said the top 80% candidates are considered for cut off, but how do they decide the cut off??? That is the first question.

they may take avg marks of top 80% people and that would be subjectwise cutoff. for total cutoff ; 1.3*n and that's it

Hey Ramya and others! I think I finally solved this puzzle..................
I am copy-pasting my first post and continuing from there....
The thing in red is the process for ranking of all groups where N stands for "Total number of seats for the respective category"... I mean N is 4000 odd for general students and the required percentage for the reserved groups
The category ranks are decided this way........
This method seems plausible......What do you all say?
The summation also makes sense then in the last brown box!

Hi synner, I got ur point but could not make out that how r the subjective cut offs determined to which the top 80% students are cross checked whether or not they have acquired the individual cut off.

Hi Anubhavmax......
See my point 2 and 3..
Point 2 throws off the lower 20% people going by subjective cut-offs!
Point 3 says out of the remaining upper 80% ..The top 80% subject marks are treated as the subjective CO's
If u combine point 2 and 3 it comes out that you have to be in top 80% of the already taken(from point 2) 80% top students.
It comes out to be 64%....so u have to be nearly in the top 64% in all subjects to clear the subjective CO's
I hope I am clear......If you have any doubts still, kindly post!!
