sir, i can comfortably get civil and materials and metallurgy at iit Kanpur. Which of these has more opportunities(monetary)? In brochure it is given that
"The field of engineering materials has expanded enormously in the recent past and....".Plz comment on this statement.
materials and metallurgy is an emerging branch but it is mostly research oriented.
civil is also staging a comeback and is going to be very popular. very good oppurtinities can be there soon.
Sure i am that this day we are the masters of our fate, that the task set before us is not above our strengths; that its pangs and toils are not beyond our endurance. As long as we have faith in our own cause and an unconquerable will to win, victory will not be denied us.

the core will not give u gr8 money in either .. most of the people wud go for jobs in banks etc afterwards .. or in software .. so that way it does not matter..
but i think civil is better .. coz atleast if u want to remain in core there are a few good companies around
