maths-1, physics-4, chem-3 were the highest marks the respective subjects by the students in bottom 20%. it was not the actual cut-off.

No SahilGupta I myself got 14(Phy), 16(Mat) & 18(Chem) marks is respectively in JEE last year & couldn't make to IIT (s). I think was amongst those 20% b'coz cut off is decided by JEE on the basis of the performance if top 80% people.

no sonal cut-off is not just determined by eliminating the bottom 20%. many more stages are involved.
