2. which books do you recomend for practice of iit-jee .

3. should i practice subjective or objective more, keeping in view the present   format of iit-jee.

4. what should be my time shedule(rough idea) .keeping in mind that most probably i would join dce also.....

Dear Harsh,
See, everyone in this forum and also most all of intermediate science students wanaa to be an iitian . But a few of those can make into it . No doubt u also have this dream to become an iitian and have an IIT tag on u but this life is not wat we think . So cheer up and join DCE bcos its also a good institute ( I am n't saying this ,according to many surveys conducted by various org.).Also congratulation on ur performance in DCE 2007 & u should feel proud wat u r & dont feel guilty for wat  r not.
Also DCE has a good placement record ,so enjoy life in DCE and forget about one yr of dropping becos ""Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it.""

Ulitimately, it depends on whether you want to be in IIT badly enough or not. I agree with rishabh that you should move on. But, if IIT is the thing you want, then you should go for it. But make sure you work hard to make the drop a fruitful one.

You have a very good opportunity now at DCE. Before you leave it, make sure that you are ready to do whatever it takes to get into IIT. If you find that you are willing to work hard and laboriously for the next one year, then go for a drop. However, if you feel any doubt at all, join DCE. Remember that with enough practice you can master anything, provided that you have the will to put in what it takes.

As for topics, the entire syllabus is important, as JEE ism't a selection test - its a mass rejection test. So, you have to be well prepared in every topic.

Books:
Physics
HC Verma (don't move to any other book till you finish this off)
Fundamentals Laws of Mechanics - Irodov
Fundamentals Laws of Electromagnetism - Irodov
Problems in General physics -Irodov
Any book having the last 10 - 15 years of IIT question papers
Problem book by Abhay Kumar Singh
DC Pandey for problems and miscellanous tips

Mathematics
A Das Gupta Inter Series
Problem plus A Das Gupta
Arihant Series

Chemistry
Solomon and Arihant for Organic
JD Lee and Arihant for Inorganics
Schaums, NCERT, and Arihant for Physical

As for practicing for the format of the test, that is the last stage in your preparation. First complete the syllabus thoroughly. It doesn't matter whether the test is subjective or objective. The questions asked will be such that they test your understanding. The pattern of the test is important only when you are fully  prepared and want to do some time management. So, as of now, prepare as if the test is subjective. As you finish off your syllabus, then you can prepare a strategy according to the exact pattern.
