personally, i think grade 9 is too early to start preping for JEE...for now, just get really good marks in school. what ever is taught in school learn it really well...and UNDERSTAND it so that for the JEE you wont have to learn the basics again. ;)

But I have heard that one should start early preparations for examinations such as IIT. Also I wanna know that Is IIT selection completely based on its entrance what we give or are our 12th grade maks   also taked into account?

great hikashi.. from 9th standard onwards hi iit ki chinta ho gayi.:))

well u should more concentrate on 9th syallabus . ya sometimes (i mean about 20% only u should devote ur time on preparing jee)

12th board marks are not counted in jee.......

books ( all i m telling u which are based on 10th,11th&12th course)

physics-h c verma
mathematics-diff. books are reffered .e.g a das,tata,etc.

so to do these books u will need to cover ur 9th,10th,11th & 12th syllabus..

first clear your 10 class with 90+
then worry bout jee
waise u should practice objective questions of olympiads<ntse jsts etc>
lay stress on maths & science
use mental maths skills like vedic maths for calculations
give importance to ur skool after 10 <ppl usually neglect skool studies after 10>

Its too early to start preparations for JEE. Just go on with your 9th studies thoroughly. You must build your basics first. You can buy H C Verma for high school level. In free time solve puzzles, sudoku etc. It will improve your skills and analyticity. Rather than thinking of JEE first think of NTSE. Buy TMH book on NTSE and solve problems from them.
