iit guwahati

I have got 1006 AIR in IIT & i think that i can get comp sc(my interest) in iit guwahati.but seeing the present ranking of iitg, i am a bit confused & some of my teachers are telling me to opt for a course in iitd or iitb.but i am a bit inclined towards comp sc.so should i opt for iitg, or a better ranked iit for better placements?is iitg absolutely safe from naxalites or such?what about the placements in iitg?

hey

since u have asked this question .. let me tell u a conversation that took place between me and a friend of mine my roomie infact yesterday night ..

we have now completed 3 years and we were actually looking at the last few years .. both of us agreed that we have evolved a gr8 deal as an indivisual but not as an engineer ..

And I know this is true and true in all the IITs .. so sometimes I feel that this the reason for which so many ppl prefer IITB or IITD .. because there u atleast have an exposure to lot of things that help u become a better person rather ..

I have just presented a scenario .. n i leave the judgement to ur wit ..

Hi ... May be I m a bit late....but just to let you all know of certain facts about IITG placement this year (2006-07):

Overall Avg Salary (BTech): 6.2
CSE Avg Salary(BTech): 8.3

Need I say more ??
