for sure
nd non iitians get less thn 10 lac per annum if they r fr brnch othr thn cs

iit ths year didnt prvd wrth
waitng fr aieee,bt wanna knw abt placements of brnch except cs

you don't pay people because they are iitians and deny them jobs because they aren't!
ya avg packages are pretty high but that's no surety of one getting it, remember it's avg!
but yes avg are above 6 lacs for the institute and branch wise avg's vary. infact meta and chem have the best packages after cs. so don't worry.

I don't think so, depends on your ability....
What if someone ends up as a very good cricketer, practising in an IIT and is hired in the IPL for some 60-70 lacs??

dont worry if not an iitian...last year one engg chap from CUSAT (Cochin University) got an offer of 70 lakhs p.a. (it was given in some newspaper) .....but remember...LUCK plays an imp. role everywhere....and yes of course learn to be happy with what u get and u can have a PEACEFUL life....

As long as you have a decent inflow to maintain your life, it's ok. Too much is always trouble. I think we should look for a good education and value addition to ourselves now

ya i agree wid swaram...u shud have a decent inflow to keep u happy...then enjoy life...u dont know what is in store for u tmrw...so b happy with wat u have got and keep going strong with a positive attitude.....

Arey yaar, don't worry, i am also suffering from the same pain, but i know that IIT are not the last. Not everyone can go through it.Regarding placements, 6 lacs are avg in IIT but in NIT it is not very less. I have also seen on a website that min package is of 2.5 lacs.
So, it depends on ur ability. Moreover, if u want hefty packages, u shud try for IIM through CAT after doing ur BTech.
