No. Basic intelligence and lots of hard work is required to clear iit. If some one is more intelligent he/she can qualify with lesser hard work. Thats it.

FYI, the average IQ of IITians is just above average ( around 110). If u are intelligent , less work is needed. If u are not, then more hard work is needed. As ashgirl pointed out, ppl with good analytical abilities and instincts fare better in JEE.

IIT MEANS INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY IT DOES NOT NEED
ANY EXTRA QUALIFICATIONS OF INTELIGENCE OR ANY THING ELSE
IT NEEDS ONLY THE BASIC CONCEPT AND ITS APPLICATION ONLY. IT
DOES NOT NEED ANY INTELIGENCE BUT AFTER GOING TO IIT U
SHOULD BE INTELLIGENT , UNDERSTOOD I.E., U BECOMES INTELIGENT
AFTER GOING INTO IIT .
