1. ITBHU Comp SC will give you the best career options.

2. Infrastructure in the institute is extremly good.

3. There should not be any comparison between NSIT and ITBHU. NSIT is just another engg college.

4. if you want to wigh career options avlb agn ITBHU Comp Sc will score a lot more then any IIT non comp/elec branch.

hey ptateek conratultions first
I am from IT BHU electrical
see IT BHU is definitely better than NSIT and also better than IIT Guwahati in overall scorecard the only problem here is the infrastructure which is a little weak but things are bound to improve since the institute is being upgraded to an IITstatus latest by june 09
placements are EXCELLENT specially in branches like Comp sc.,metallurgy, pharmacy, chemical core companies despite being the fact that still it was a non IIT institute but since the current 3rd year onwards will be getting an IIT degree as per the upgradation its all going to be just better
just nudge me for any more questions
all the best

I am from NSIT. And here are my unbiased opinions. It will be wrong for us to make the decision for you, but I will try and put some things in perspective. And please, no flaming from anyone. We are not street kids here.

1. Infrastructure =    IT BHU > NSIT

IT BHU is much older than NSIT. So, it will surely give you better infrastructure. No doubt.

   2. Placements   = NSIT > IT BHU

Go ahead and try and gather the facts. Dont go for whats published in media...its all faulty. Research it yourself.

  3. NSIT being just another engn. college

Surely a misquote. I am not going to pull strings here. But most of the people coming here having a JEE rank (including myself) good enough to get great branches in IT BHU is testimony to it. Also, IT BHU is not IIT (not yet...dont take it for granted) . You wont have the IIT ka thappa with it. But again at NSIT, you might miss the great historical legacy which I think IT BHU will offer.

So, dont write off NSIT like this. If you are in Delhi, most probably you will come to know what NSIT is. The location of the college gives you great advantage.

Ohh and lastly, dont take opinions of anyone from NSIT ( including myself !) or someone from IT BHU (like the ones above) !. You cant trust it !....There are reasons why we chose what we chose and they are bound to justify their decisions.

Finally, please try and ask an experienced 3rd person like someone who works in the industry for an unbiased opinion. Those in the industry will tell you what they think of different colleges and thats what matters in the end.

Peace

Rooney

what wud be better-doing civil frm iit roorkee or comp./electronics from IT BHU(considering the fact that BHU is still not an IIT although its almost certain that it will become one)...i hav interest in comp. nd elec. but the only thing which i am worried abt is wat if at the last moment things go awry nd BHU is not made an IIT...

I think BHU will be  transformed into IIT  this year or may be next year . So in that case BHU will be a better option.

hey just check this link and u will get an idea about the proceedings to conversion to an IIT
http://www.itbhuglobal.org/chronicle/archives/2008/03/
and yes the other decision is a tough one deciding upon or compromisng upon ur interest but i would suggest you to incline towards your interest IIT Roorkee is a wonderful place so is BHU as a whole(ie as a universitty which has its own advantages)
so all the best!

I agree with Rohil, NSIT definitely has good placements.

Your interest in CS and you have to choose between CS-BHU and Civil-Roorkee, well you should go with your interest. BHU has its own repute and its CS engineers get good packages.

For your reference, visit www.nsitlounge.in , www.dcetech.com and

NSIT has a super reputation in the industry and at IIMs and FMS. So much so that, for the last few years admissions IIMC and FMS have been dominated by NSITians. Check the facts...Go to FMS website and check the number of students from NSIT.

NSIT also has a lot foriegn admits each year( Stanford, MIT, UIUC, University of California, UCI, Caltech, Gatech, NYU, Columbia....)...

Man..NSIT is God when it comes to placements(almost 200% placement last year). IT-BHU is known just because it is old.

Firms Visited NSIT in 2007-08: 85

Total no of offers for 398 BE Students in 2007-08: 794  (199.49 % placement)

Every Eligible student has at least on job in hand.

@Lord_Earth

Please dont put so much of info here. There is nothing to prove. Just lead them to nsitlounge if they need anything.
