Depends on the branch yaar and the NIT offcourse!
Now who would compare IT-BHU and NIT Srinagar!
But Personally I think CSE at NIT Trichy or IIT H is better than IT-BHU>

Perhaps u wd like to take another shot at IIT next yr.
Under the circumstances, BITS Pilani or IIIT-H wd be a better option than BHU IT. If I were u, I wdn't look at the NITs. Their infrastructure & the profile of teaching staff are inferior to the ones mentioned here.

Many of us really dont know which branch to choose
And the person who knows doesnt take it and goes back of gud colleges, compramising the favourite branch
This happens because many doesnt have a strong determination .
Go for ur favourite branch and get admission in the best college in which u can . And from that college , if u do well na , then no one can stop u from reaching ur goal. You should have a strong determination and self confidence when doing anything, otherwise surely u will fail.
I have experiance- many of my friends did the same mistake - compramised their favourite branch and went back of gud colleges like iit , and even though they completed their course in such gud colleges after compramising their fav. branch , now they are telling that they taken the wrong decesion at that time !
So after hearing about ur rank , just be cool and enquire about in which college u will get admission for ur favourite branch only!!! - no problem if u dont get into iits..after all 80 % of the people who write jee are loosers , me too !
Every college have some advantages and some disadvantages..even the iits have ....so when choosing colleges think a bit and ask ur parents about that.. find a college near to ur home so that u can be in touvh with ur parents ..this is helpful at times when ur away from home ie in ur college and thus concentrate in ur studies.
Let me tell you one thing : A student of park college of engineering , of Msc software engineering (5 yrs integrated), he was very dissapointed at first when he listen his parents took a decesion , (at that time he was thinking of iits , compramising his fav branch ie CSE ,) of joining this college. And now u see.. he has been offerd a job by some cool company from abroad offering a whopping 1 crore Rs/ year.
Best wishes everyone ..so take utmost care when choosing branches and dont worry about colleges !!!
