JEE 3400 / AIEEE 3300/700AP /BITSAT 320
None

JEE 3400 / AIEEE 3300/700AP /BITSAT 320

What do you suggest for this combination?

How is BITS-Hyderabad going to be?

Is IT-BHU good as it is becoming IIT next year?

Thanks

What can you get at BITS?..........probably CHEM onwards at pilani and EIE at Goa

If I were you i would prefer BITS>BHU>EEE

Pilani is better than BHU

Fill the cream branches at the existing IITs this year. If you get it well and fine go study but if you dont then BITS is always there for you.

Also if you are open to the idea of trading BITS with the new IITs(Which I would not go 4 at all) then you may also try out something at new IITs. Its your chice completely.

About BHU being a new IIT its almost confirmed, but please confirm  from someone that if you join this year you will b given an IIT degree and not a BHU degree?

yaar i think that u shd go for BITS
bcoz i think that if BHU becomes an IIT u wd still be getting the degree of "IT-BHU"
only ppl who join BHU after annoucement will be gettin an "IIT" degree...
thats my pt of view..

definitely BITS...at ur score,u'l easily get 1 of CS/EE/ENI which is better than the branches at IT-BHU u'l get at ur rank...
and as an institute IT-BHU stands no match for BITS!

Heyy............i dont knw ur definition r perspective abt "meaningful brnch" but i definitely knw one thing ............ u can still get msc chem in IITK whcih gt a highst pay of abt 22 lacs pa at managerial level in a chemical company...........

So take ur own take........if u have die hard interst to be in TECH LINE ........adn stuff......go to BITS surely

But if u want to try ur hand in ALL THOSE THINGS IN UR LIFE WHICH U CDNT DO..come to IIT it will mould u COMPLETELY.......u knw"Personality development.!" and dude its necessary fr a "entrepreneur" ........

Well i just cant beleive the silly "low level studied facts" qouted by
f2007034 chap.........grw up dude........face the world......
("DONT IMPLEMENT DATA encapsulation upon u.......hehe!!(cse stud!))

well!as far as 'ur low level studied facts' goes, let them decide who matter!
personality development...entrepreneurs, plenty of oppurtunities in BITS too...

n meaningful branch-there's no such cocept...All I mean is a branch of ur choice!
u won't wanna be stuck in a chemical lab if all u ever wanted to do was ...say 'design robots...write code...build bridges...'...wud u?N once u get a starting package,u'l have to depend on ur skills for further improvement!
people from BiTS have got to schulburger with pay packages of 42 lakhs...but I won't call tat lyf exciting...once u are in an oil field, getting from 42 to 90 wil depend on ur skills...

say i get 22 now in a chemical company which increases to 26 in 7 yrs coz i'm not interested in tat sorta work n do it passively...compare it to u getting a job of 12 lakhs in a gud architecure firm...work ur a$$ off(coz u lyk it)...get an oppurtunity to work on "the WORLD PROJECT",Dubai...and get 60 P.A reimbursement!
wats more appealing?

n hey!wat bou the 20 other guys in m.sc(chem)?surely u can't assume urself to be the 22lakh guy!

Agreed all these are jus hypothetical examples...but u've to think of all the corner cases when makin such a huge decision!u can't just run behind a tag...

Course if u aren't interested in any particular branch then take wateva u get in IIT-B>D>K>M=Kgp....
ur mom wil be proud wen she wil introduce u in a social gathering!

MSc is a Msc, so I thought so far.

Looks like IIT's MSc is much better than Engineering some times. Could you give some more examples?

But still I think, engineering gives a goodfoundation and you can build on that afterwards. If we go for Msc, then the futer path is determined. Prefer to have flexibility. 3400 rank maynot get any engineering at all.

That is the problem. I do not know why they call 8000 ranks for counselling?

Thanks

No M.sc are not better than engineering for most normal students...Its only better for those who 'practically live a subject'...
Ur scope after an M.sc gets limited...whereas in engineering,u can go multi-disciplinary based on ur interests.

IIT M.tech duals are gr8...can't say the same 'bou their M.sc courses....
N when u guys try to compare an m.sc in BITS to 1 in IIT,its naturally flawed. Both the m.sc courses are entirely different.

BITS offers an M.sc in which u can pick up a corresponding B.tech dual of ur choice after the 1st yr based on ur CG....its good for those people who wanted CS/EEE/ENI/MECH but couldn't make the cut...plus u get 1 yr of extra knowledge in ur respect m.sc course!

IIT M.sc courses are entirely different. There u study the same subject u tuk the m.sc in for all 5 yrs....So its much better for students who wanna do Phd's and research in that particular subject!

BITS duals are like M.tech duals of IIT albeit the choice factor...Lyk I got an oppurtunity of a B.tech in engineering design wid an M.tech in Automotive tech in IITM....whereas in BITS,if u choose Msc(eco)...at the end of 5 yrs,u'l pass out wid a B.tech in (CS/EEE/ENI/MECH/NAVAL/Chem) + M.sc in eco...

N u're ryt wen u say-an M.sc is an m.sc at IIT...no B.tech degrees as duals!
