Go for BITS. That seems to be the best for you.

But do Attend JEE counselling. Fill up the choices that are better than BITS, If you get them well and fine and if you dont ,BITS is there.

See with ur IIT rank and BITS score,u should just forget 'bou AIEEE and NIT's.....
Coming to choosing between BITS and IIT, its for u to decide whether a tag is more important to u or a branch of ur choice...At ur score,u'l get EEE/ENI at pilani and CS at goa...whereas in IIT,U'l scrap thru a gud dual in one of the IIT-B/K/D/Kgp/M
Now, cross out IT-BHU and ISM Dhanbadd too...even thou they choose students thru IIT,they don't hve the IIT tag and then they are in no way bettr than BITS!
I had a gr8 interest in cS,so i tuk goa CS leaving IITM even after getting AIR 1992...(b.tech in ED wid M.tech in Automotive tech...cutoff--AIR 2026)
but a lot of my friends went to IIT's even after getting around AIR 2000-3000 and a gud BITSAT score because they didn't have any particular preference of branch...

Think of future prospects too...if u wanna go for MS/MBA later,I suggest u take a BE in BITS rather than a dual/M.sc in IIT...(U can go multi-disciplinary more easily in a BE+u'l save a yr)
M.sc eco in one of the IIT's can also be an option for MBA later/...but I'm not too keen to think of wastage of one yr for nothing...
Ofcourse,if u are interested in petroleum,u shud go for ISM...but remeber,BE COMPLETELY SURE U WANT SUCH AN OFFBEAT SUBJECT!
naval is another option for u at that rank in IITM/Kgp....
U'l have to make a decision between branches...coz u won't wanna be stuck in somethingg u don't lyk, al ur lyf...
N if u wanna go by polularity/placements,BITS CS/EEE/ENI shud be ur bet coz u won't get those branches in any of the top 5 IIT's...and they are the 'so called safe branches'!
Betwween IIT-R/Guwahati and BITS,well...BITS Pilani, pilani campus>IITR>BITS-Pilani,Goa Campus=IIT-Guwahati....So since u're getting a better branch at BITS,u can as well rule them out!

Analyse evrything...its an imp decision tat u're gonna make [:P]

Perfect. f2007. I would suggest go to bits as you will get a good branch there. And BITS is almost as good as New IITS.

Brand value , Alumni support , better placements among other things.IIIT-H avg(4.9) for B.E CS are much lower than Pilani's(7 approx) and slightly lower than Goa's(5.2 approx )
But IIIT is quite good too.

Are these the actual reasons or possible resons as reasonable guess by you?

I agree these could be good reasons at the time of initial admission but for some one to leave after a semester, there could be some more.

Thank you for your reply. IIIT-H offers CSE, ECE degree and dual (5years).

DO you know what did he leave and what he got at Goa?

even i had lot of choices last year ranging from IIIT H CS btech,BIITS Pilani-Pilani Mech ti IT BHU electrical
and i took up IT BHU electrical
after consulting seniors from my school who had passed out from these three institutes and the specific branches to my seniors at Berkley,University of Buffalo,University of Reading regarding the image of these institutes abroad aswell as i consulted the faculty at IIT Kanpur and IT BHU and all above this I also had a talk with a son of my fathers friend who was in Ernst & Young and had recantly joined Goldman ans Sachs regardind the buzz of these places among the recruiters both in the engineering sector and the finance sector andthen i reached this conclusion .Still people with their false implications wonder why i left IIIT H but i had cleared all my conceptiond and takena decision so dear I am not far from reality
THIS is how you choose a college
because to you the Goa "campus"looked better than BHU "campus" you choose it .This does tell me what do you refer to the "campus" as.I never had to give so much of clarifaication about mu institute.

Campus does not mean what made you find BITS Goa better.
campus implies environment too-which is a result of tradition it just does not mean a beautiful and picturesque arena than you would rank NIT Srinagar and NIT Hamirpur above BITS Goa even!
so,IT BHU and BITS Pilani have equally good "campus" and Goa is developing and this is what i meant
