frnz ...my AIR is 4322...i have my councelling tomorrow...

plz tell me what happens in the counclling.....what shud i apply for and what can i hope of getting....this is especially for those that have experienced the councelling......replies reqd. urgently.....

i hav attended the counselling wid my frnd on 17 (he is an obc with AIR 3850)...mine is 20th ....(mine 3828)
there will 30 tables in dogra hall (IIT DELHI)with a counseller on each table........they are just for verification of documents.....they wont answere any query regarding istitute and branch choice...........u have to sumbit the choice sheet(if not filled they will give sum time also).......Then u have to go to seminar hall IITD.......for signing the computer p[rintout of choice sheet....if still u have made mistake ........correct it bfore signing........

u can give preference to IT bhu ......ism if intrested in earth sciences.......and new IIT(if not intrested in infrastructure)

First of all you reach the iit centre where the jee staff will hand over an information leaflet along with four address slips which you will have to fill up.
Then the counselling session will begin where the staff will announce the procedure and give you the details regarding the steps and six new iits.
Step 1: You will be called according to your serial number which will be printed on the information leaflet for document verification.
Step 2: After the document verification you will be handed a yellow leaflet which you have to give to the fee counter where your dd will be processed and they will give you the required fee slip. KEEP IT VERY CAREFULLY.
Step 3: After that there will be many counsellors present where you can discuss your problems regarding your branch.
Step 4: After counsulting you will be asked to fill up the choice sheet accordingly and proceed to the choice sheet counter where you will be asked to produce the choice sheet for processing.
Step 5: After processing they will hand you two print outs of the choice sheet. Please verify against your original choice sheet. If any mistake report immediately to the concerned staff. DONOT SIGN THE SHEET unless you are satisfied.
Step 5: After that you proceed to the head counsellor where your choice sheet will be stamped and you will be handed over one choice sheet for your reference.

This data is based on what I went through in iit kanpur this year.

Regarding your rank i can best you opt for it- bhu or ismu, since they are good, much better than joining some government college except nit's if you are getting good stream in it.
