How much important is Sets, Relations and Functions chapter for JEE examination? i have not taken coaching and I always hear that what I generally study is not at all going to come in the IIT exam and I saw this at the KVPY exam recently.please advise me some excellent books in which I can get maximum IIT questions and solutions as well in the three subjects to get success?

SETS n RELATIONS are the fundamental concepts of FUNCTIONS it's an important chapter which is the base for the mighty CALCULUS which has entry in 50% of the JEE paper so u must be good at functions books? MATH: TMH DAS GUPTA MCQ ARIHANT SERIES PHYSICS: H C VERMA ARIHANT RESNICK WALKER IRODOV CHEM: O P TANDON P BAHADUR MORRYSON BOYD WAD OXFORD and many other books ALL THE BEST

Uday
I am preparing for 2007 AIEEE.
Can I refer to all those books that you have suggested to Ayush?
If not , then what?
Plz help me becoz' I have not taken any kind of coachings or tuitions.
I have to prepare myself through self study.

iit jee is the mother of all exams
once u prepare frm those books u will have least problem with AIEEE
|

5) IIT-JEE Maths- TMH
PHYSICS
1) Universtiy Physics ( Freedman and Young) - This book is required to clear the concepts.
2) Concepts in Physics I & II (H.C. Verma)
3) General Problem in Physics (I.E. IRODOV)
CHEMISTRY
Physical Chemistry
1) Problems in Chemistry - R.C. Mukherjee
2) Macmurry Fay
Organic Chemistry
1) Organic Chemistry - Solomon
Inorganic Chemistry
1) Concepts of Inorganic Chemistry - J.D. LEE
2) Inorganic Chemistry - O.P. Tandon
