i am preparing for aieee from 11th. iam writing aieee,vit,srm,bitsat and iitjee....iam not confident of getting into iit....so if i get a good rank in any of the above which should my first preferance.......is it worth going to bits goa.......what about srm......r all the NITS good

nope. all nits aren't good. try to get into NIT TRICHY, WARANGAL, ALLAHABAD
bits-pilani is the only institution in india that can compete with iit's. also, there's gonna be a hike of abt 600 seats in bits as they r opening a campus in hyderabad this year.
r u asking abt srm, chennai. i dont think its good
abt vit..........get into it only if u have no other choice
ur first preference shud be iit's of course. n that's only when u get a good course.
then bits-pilani, then nit trichy/warrangal.
abt bits-goa........im too having the same doubt!!!!!
someone tell us plz. is bits-goa good??????

See, BITS is comparable with the IITS. BITS Pilani is the ultimate private institution in India, but getting into it is tougher than getting into an NIT, probably shades tougher. NIT Trichy is a very good institute too, its right next after the IITs, even the warangal and the calicut counterparts are equally good. Getting into these institutes is also not very easy, but if you work in the right and efficient manner, you will sail through. But remember, BITS is tougher than AIEEE, and will require a slightly different mode of preparation. You still have lots of time for JEE, so muster up some interest, and prepare for JEE. Believe me, it will significantly boost your performance in the other competitive exams. Personally, I don't think SRM and VIT are worth it. The SRM test is just something like a formality. They still take you if you pay money, so there is no respect for merit there.
Prepare well, and best of luck!!!. Remember, you are in the best stage of your school career. We guys are ready to give anything to get those two years of time back! You are still in 11th, so consider yourself lucky and start preparing !

You could say BITS goa <= NIT trichy, at present. But it is a fast growing institute. Hence, expect it to be at the top in a few years.
