I got 269 in BITSAT . .
Do I have a chance of getting M.Sc(Hons.) Economics at Goa Campus ?
Are there any chance of cutoffs dropping ?
Experts please help . .

well according to the statistics theres a chance that cutoffs might drop
i m hoping too i got 265
so well they should but to what marks they will remains to be seen
however do apply coz u never know...

Hi abstract,
Last year's cutoff were 283 (after all iterations), though this year's BITSAT was tougher than last year's, You may be just lucky to get a seat.

What ever the case is, fill the choices CAREFULLY, also never think you might not clear cut-off..... Its not upto you to decide, be sure to fill the form... it only costs 200 bucks.

on comparing the statics released by bits for 2007 and 2006 you find that this year more students have got marks above 275 so obviously the cutt of will increase this year insted of dropping.

But I think this year the overall cutoff wont change!!

Just by seeing that about 7000 odd people have got it above 275!!

and seats in BITS are not that much considering that abt 4000 go to iit and other!!

not just iit
people go to iiits and also nits i mean who would give up on nit trichy cs especially a person who lives in the south and leave it to go long way from home to bits pilani for a chemical or a mech so yeah lots of things can happen.
its alll but a big gamble which u must take :P

Hey nigeria_sms i havent said it other way round , i have said it the right way. you can seee the statics of 2006 and 2007 on the bits site and then can decide it yourself. the cutt off this year for both goa and pilani wont be below 290 and thats for sure either you believe it or remain in your own hypothetical world in order to satisfy yourself and your family.

so you see people who scored above 250 have increased!!!

No of Candidates with score >= 400:	155	52
No of Candidates with score >= 350:	1241	575
No of Candidates with score >= 300:	4715	2356
No of Candidates with score >= 250:	11696	6543

Cut-off BITSAT score for admission	283	245

look at the difference between no. scoring above 350 and 300.....this time this is likely to fall .....smwhr between tht in 2006 and 2005 .....the endmark is almost around the score of 6000th candidate....so the cutoff is likely tobe the score of 6000th candidate....so its likely to be around 280..

Now See This:-

People Who Appered 2007:-Approx 63000.

People above 250:-Approx 12000

% of people above 250:-approx. 17%.

People who appeared 2006 :- approx 53000

People above 250:- Approx 11700

% of people above 250:- approx 24%.

There is a dip of 7%.

Now No. of seats is 1400.

So total people in 1st iteration is 1400.

Last year first iteration was 317.

People above 300 :-4730

People above 350:-1241

People above 317: 1400

People Between 300-317:- 3330

So What i Am trying to say is that the Final cut off May increase or decrease by + - 2 or 5.

But this time due difficulty of paper the subject cut offs for Pilani and some subjects of goa is bound to decrease by 5 marks at least.

People have got above 300 But not many above 320-330.
