If Tricky is in Tamil Nadu
You will definitely get something, maybe even Mech/Electrical or better
If Trichy in not in Tamil Nadu
At best you can get a seat in NIT Trichy. You may get a seat, however the chances are not sureshot. Even if you do get one it is unlikely that it will be better than Civil or at the most Chem. You might get something lower than that too in case it exists.
The thing is after 8000-10000, everything starts getting borderline and you may get a seat or you may not. The point is many good courses(at least till last year) used to end somewhere between 10000-12000. I am basically talking of lower courses in top institutes of India. So had you been even a thousand or fifteen hundred ranks less, your chances for such stuff would have been much higher.
However you might get something or the other in Trichy Warangal or Surathkal and you will definitely get something or the other in Allahabad, Jaipur or Kozhikhode.
i got rank:273 during my AIEEE exam in 2006,i got production in trichy(i am in MNNIT)!!!!
no way u can get mech,people dont mislead others....i am sure that u will get a seat in trichy.
i will tell u ,all seats in NITT are really good.
or search for some other NIT.

With 273 you can get anything anywhere. Please check last years cut offs at AIEEE website.
This year selection is through AIR basis and not through state quotas, so everything is different and very relaxed for people of Delhi, UP, Bihar, AP and esp RJ.
